I have visited a vascular surgeon recently who gave me the name of a quality skin surgeon who will possibly be working with me to map out a full body plan. I plan to call on monday and see what I would need to do to establish a medical need so that it could possibly be covered by my insurance. Basically, if my insurance will cover it, I will do it as soon as the surgeon thinks I am ready. If it is not covered by insurance, I will continue on as is.

My food discipline has been pretty good since. My guess is a loss but a very modest one. A couple pounds maybe.

In other news, I found a new free live poker league today www.worldtavernpoker.com and attended two of the games today. I had been looking for one for a long time, I used to play in a poker league in 06/07 and got very good. Today I was able to continue that success with a first place finish (three tables of 8) at the late game! Already qualifying for a tourny at the end of the season where I could win a free buy in for the WSOP! Not too shabby!

It also happens that this league is in a bowling alley, so I also bowled three games (haven't bowled in a very long time) and that was less successful (147, 101 and 130 respectively) but it was a lot of fun and really took me back to my youth (my first two jobs were in bowling alleys and I bowled very often back then)

Thinking about joining a bowling league after the holidays, to get out of the house, meet some people and get some socializing going. All the better if its combined with regular poker league games.

Keep up the good work WB. Just curious thought, how do you plan on approaching the holidays with all of the food/alcohol involved?

My approach this year will be much different from last year. Last year, for the most part, I just avoided having holiday cheat days/cheat meals simply because at that point, I wasn't ready. I was still semi new to this and wasn't to the point where I could so easily get back to the proper routine after a cheat.

This year I plan to fully enjoy myself. Tuesday (birthday) Christmas Eve (my families christmas party) and the Christmas dinner. My plan will be to be extremely disciplined leading up to and following these occasions, to perhaps offset the indulgences. This will include very low calories and consistent gym vists, coupled with increased activity in other aspects of life (bowling league is one consideration, raquetball at the gym, etc)

I am confident that if I stick to this regiment I can prevent any weight gain and perhaps even still shed a few pounds during this holiday season.

That is a very pleasing thought. 245 would be lower than I have ever been in my teen or adult life.
