Hey all,
Looking to stack another supplement with my hemavol pre workout to help increase pumps and vascularity. I've been taking hemavol for 2 weeks now and I haven't been too impressed. Pumps aren't nearly as great as advertised. However, I have good vascularity/pumps to begin with, so perhaps I just have a higher tolerance. Taking 2 scoops of hemavol per session could get pricey, so I'm looking to stack something else with it. I've read about citrulline malate and it seems like it's a great pump supplement. Because hemavol already has 2.5 g of citrulline malate, I would only need a 4-5 g serving to take with the hemavol.
What do you all think? Any side effects to this? Do you all have any other suggestions to stack with hemavol (non-stim)?
Edit: Do you take all 6 g of CM pre workout, or spread it out through the day?

How are you dosing your Hemavol? Maybe I can help your experience meet your expectations.
~6g of citrulline malate would be a nice addition, that gets you close to the studied 8g dose if you're using one scoop of Hemavol. If you're using more, adjust accordingly.NOV || Ohio Chapter || Be more, have less.

My commute to the gym is 20-30 min, I used to have a quest bar on the way there. I dropped that because I heard hemavol works best on a completely empty stomach, wanted to give it a chance to perform optimally. After 4 tries, I wasn't seeing the pump I had hoped for, so I added the quest bar back in after consuming the hemavol on an empty stomach. Still wasn't seeing results

OP, this is the GOAT pre workout for pumps and endurance:
6-8 Grams Cit Mal
750 mg Agmatine
400 mg caffeine
Add about 16 oz of water and some Mio/water flavoring and drink on a somewhat empty stomach (I try not to eat at least 2 1/2 hrs before gym so it hits me harder). You can get all these bulk powders for less than $25 and it should last you about 3 months.Always picks #7 crew

personally, i was never able to get a good pump when training fasted like that. I need a good amount of food in me or im just flat
you could add some citrulline malate, but I dont think its going to make that much of a difference to be honest.
and the quest bar is fiber and fats, all thats going to do is draw blood to the stomach
If I was going to add anything it would be some carbs but im not sure if that fits your goalskeep it simple, keep it basic, keep it heavy

I personally do have great vascularity, even when training fasted/no carbs PWO. I'm probably one of those people who needs 2 scoops of hemavol to see results, but that just becomes too pricey. I'll give the CM a try and see how that works.
Edit:
Thanks for your suggestion brah, but I'm looking for non-stimLast edited by Ahmed81; 03-06-2014 at 02:41 PM.

That is your issue, right there. Not enough water by any means. If you are going to be working out first thing in the morning, you are going to need to wake up, drink 20oz of water, and then 20-30 minutes later, drink your hemavol with 20-30oz of additional water.
Waking up and drinking only 20oz of water before working out, is next to no fluid volume for your body. I would be extremely flat with that little and not able to achieve any pump. Are there any days you workout later in the day? If so, try it then, I bet you would love it!
You are also carb depleted in the morning which makes it really hard to achieve a big pump.

Thanks for support. Everyone is to dehydrated and carb depleted in the morning to truly achieve a solid pump no matter how much they take of whatever. I could do the same pre-workout regimen, but the later in the day I work out, the more water I drink and eat throughout the day, the pumps grow an an exponential rate. I can get a pump in the AM, but it is nowhere near the same as later.
