You know, scientifically speaking, America greatly benefited from the last world war. We made some incredible scientific progress in many aspects including geology and psychology. We got a chit ton of foreign scientist that were fleeing their countries.

Ha it actually wasn't like that at all. Geologically, we learned about sea floor spreading and the fact that magnetism is trapped within magma because of submarines scanning for enemies. I don't know that this is specific to the US, but it's a benefit of the war.

Psychologically, lots happened. I'll complete omit all the scientific testing that the Germans were doing. We learned about the fact that, no matter what training occurred, you could not prevent someone from completely losing their training. There was an issue with friendly fire from fighter jets, and even though they were trained to know who NOT to shoot down, it still occurred. There was also something about dogs that sniffed and pigeons with bombs strapped to them but I can't recall what we learned from that lol.
