Life time reps. I can't figure it out.
It's super late which is my fault but I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm on spring break so I can't see my professor. Any tip or hint will be helpful. I've spent hours upon hours just tryna figure out how to prove this.

It's classical analysis and undergraduate research.
It's super late. It was due a long time ago. But because there are only 3 or so people in the class, and I have the professor for my other math course; he is allowing me to turn it in late without penalty, or so he says.
You can go ask him if you want, but I don't really want to cheat as much as figure it out.

It's a special topic analysis class. We analyze many different things. The professor wrote the book. You talk about many different things, learn many new proof techniques. But in reality it is so fcuking hard. Everything flies over my head every time he teaches something new. And I made the mistake of falling behind. There are no tests. Only projects. The final is a presentation about some research you've found.
I am double majoring in math and bio, with a 3.9. In my math major, I have a 4.0, so don't get me wrong, I'm not stupid, just in a bad predicament.

I may have figured it out. Let me look into this jstor article.
None of these proofs are too difficult, it's just getting started. I had to use "back and forth" induction on the previous problem and I never had learned that sh*t in desecrate. Made me wanna end my life.
To top it off I told him I'd type it up in LaTex…. That sh*t took me years for the first 3/5 problems

assume a>b>0 ; only need to prove p=1/3 by inequality of power mean
Pull out a 'b' from both sides:
(a/b - 1) /log(a/b) < (((a/b)^1/3 + 1)/2)^3
log((a/b)^1/3) > (8(a/b - 1))/(3((a/b)^1/3 + 1)^3)
a=b -> log(a/b)=0 ; a/b - 1 = 0; 0<0 ; so a!=b; must show log(a/b) increases faster than (8(a/b - 1))/(3((a/b)^1/3 + 1)^3)
(b/a)^1/3 > 8(1 + a/b^2/3)/(1 + a/b ^ 1/3)^4 <--> 8(a/b)^1/3 (1+a/b^2/3) < (1+a/b^1/3)^4 <--> (a/b^1/3 - 1)^4 >0
