Sup fellas, im looking to directly hit my side delts and was planning to do side raises but i only have 1 set of dumbbells and they are too heavy, im wondering if wide grip upright rows would be a good replacement for them?, also would they offer the same level of side delt development as the side raises?, thanks.

Actually, contrary to how most people here would do it, I'd lean FORWARD a little bit.
Bent forward abit, knees slightly bent, chest out. Barbell should be hanging with slight space from the thighs. Rows to chest.
Think of the position of the deadlift at the top, when ALMOST locking out.
I found that when I row up, the bar won't have friction with my body or gym attire, and I can hit my side delts and rear delts better, as opposed to having more front delt involvement when I'm standing straight.

Thanks for the help, i would also like to know how you guys would incorporate the upright rows into my current routine?, this is the full body routine im currently doing:
Workout A
Squat 3x5
Bench 3x5
Rows 3x5
Dips 3x8
Curls 3x8
Shrugs 3x10
Calf raises 3x12
Workout B
Squat 3x5
Press 3x5
Deadlift 1x5
Chins 3x8
Skullcrushers 3x8
Face pulls 3x10
Weighted crunches 3x12
AxBxAxx
Where would you add them?, i was thinking alternating the shrugs with the upright rows?, or maybe replacing the shrugs with them?, how would everyone do it?, thanks.

I am confused about your plans for purchasing new dumbbells. At this rate you would have to purchase an entire rack.
Why don't you just get two inexpensive spinlock dumbbell handles and a crap load of 10lbs and 20lbs plates. Voila, you have a lot of variable weights at a fraction of the cost.
Btw, how heavy are the dumbbells you currently have?
