I tried this a few years ago and recently tried it again
There are lots of alcoholic beverages out there and many of them pack a different punch. Most people familiar with alcohol content know that beer is usually the weakest by volume, followed by wine and then liquor (with a few special exceptions).
Whether an alcoholic drink is carbonated also plays a role in its toxicity. This may trend against the common-sense understanding that a fluid with a higher alcohol by volume (ABV) gets a person intoxicated faster.
Nevertheless, carbonated alcoholic drinks are absorbed more quickly, and the science of carbonation holds the key.
Carbonated alcoholic drinks in this sense should not be limited only to those drinks that are created with carbon dioxide infused in them, like champagne, beer and some flavored alcoholic spritzers.
It includes any alcoholic drink that is ingested along with a carbonated mixer as well, because the magic happens in the stomach, rather than in the drink. Carbonation increases pressure in the stomach, which helps to force alcohol into the bloodstream via the stomach lining.
So, the next time you have a bloated feeling while drinking a carbonated alcoholic beverage, it will do you well to note that your discomfort is having the interesting side effect of getting you intoxicated faster.
After reading this I decided to put it to the test with a pre-workout
There was a noticeable difference in the delivery. Usually my pre-workout takes 20 to 30 minutes to kick in. Mixed with carbonated water I noticed the effects in half the time. I also noticed my energy levels were heightened for a longer period of time and it seemed to enhance the flavoring as well, (disregard the strawberry CW, it was terrible), I highly recommend using unflavored carbonated water. If anyone else has tried this or is interested in doing so, post your thoughts

If we were ******** friends, you would no that I do this all the time. I live off of seltzer water and mix my hemavol in it religiously. For some reason, it really enhances workouts for me.. maybe mental, but it works.

This is a whole lot of over-analysis for something negligible. Most supplements aren't absorbed in the stomach anyway...

I noticed I get a better boost off the carbonated Monsters than the non-carbonated, which is interesting because the non-carbonated has more caffeine.

I can't wait for one of the science bros to report that they analyzed this and determined that due to the use of CO2, it allows for enhanced NO2 due to the availability of the O2, combined with the aminos, which we all know have the magical nitrogen, as is commonplace in the industry to use nitrogen testing for protein counts.

I actually tried this awhile ago with my Soda stream when I read an article about it, the problem is you have to carbonate the water first and then when you go to put the pre workout into it really foams all over the place. You can’t add the pre workout first and then carbonate because it shots out of the bottle while foaming up, makes a huge mess!! Both ways do actually and to be honest about it I never really noticed a deference so I stopped

Interesting idea, may give it a shot soon.
Just throwing this out there, I tried the 1MR Vortex for the first time today and must say that it kicked in faster than most preworkouts (about half the time). Now this was before I read this post and mixed it with normal water. Do you think it could be because it was with that specific preworkout or have you tried other ones with the carbonated water?Controlled Labs PROmore Review: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=173734971&p=1488086951&posted=1#post1488086951
