    Unhappy A sign of overtraining/underrecovering?

    Good day lifters
Recently (This week) started a new routine which is fairly taxing, with the only rest being on weekends.
3 days into it I have a bad cold and feel rough.
    haven't had a deload/rest week in about 5 weeks.
Would you say this is a one off or an immediate sign this routine isn't right for me.
    Thanks!

I'd say that you should try to have one rest day at weekdays and one restday on the weekends. 5 split without rest in between can be tough for some people.

If you're not getting stronger over time you aren't recovering

Eat more or reduce volume if thats the case

your body will just be adapting then, may feel like crap for a few days but it'll adjust to the work you place upon it

Overtraining doesn't cause a cold. It's most likely just coincidence that whilst you have started the new routine you've caught a cold.
