Hey peoples.
I have always been the fat guy around 25-30% BF. I have been working my ass off for a year now and i finally had the balls to take a selfie… Started at 232lbs and I'm sitting comfortable at 190ish now. I am curious to what my body fat % is. I would like to be down to 10-12% eventually. My guestimate would be 18% now? I hope in another year i will hit my goal. And yes i am hairy… LOL Thanks a bunch!!!

Hard to say with just a torso shot, but I would guess 15-17ish. Maybe a little lower if your legs are very lean.
Nice work and continued success. Props for being realistic as well. It is refreshing!RAW lifts

Thanks fellas. Its been a loooong hard road for me. Legs are super lean and arms as well. The only real trouble spot is my chest. The dam fat just wont come off. My gut is gone but i still have fat on my chest. Im at the point where i wanted to do lypo but they want 4g's… Ill keep spending money on food/supplements and gym membership. Hopefully within a year or so i will start to see a change there. It def don't happen over night. If you put in the time results will peak for them selves.

That is a typical male fat pattern. I too am the same way. All my fat is in my midsection/torso. I have 4.5mm thigh skinfolds and 4mm chest and a 12mm abdominal. Calipers say I am 7% but I look 10-11%. I did a hydro once and it had me at 8% when most people would have said I was 12-13 at the time....
It takes time, but gets better as you go on. Stomach sub-q is the hardest to lose. Once you shed it though, it has been my experience that it stays off easy as well (with VAT coming back first) and easily reversible after surpluses.RAW lifts

@Geneius356 - great job bro! Awesome work for 1 year. If I had to guess for the pic you posted I would say 16-19%
@Induced DragI hear you there. I did the hydro recently and it said I was 12.8 and I would guess i am closer to 15+% just based off my midsection fat. I also do a caliper test and I try to measure consistently just for comparison and that lately has been coming in out to around 13-13.5 but my leg mm are definitely bringing down the number. A lot of my fat is midsection.
This is me at the hydro 12.8, i think all those test are a crap shoot with too many human variable that can manipulate the results

Portergolf. I saw your transformation in the >35. REALLY nice job man. Impressive for sure.
Yep....that is the curse of carrying fat like that. It STILL haunts me. I took this pic tonight doing legs. My legs are this lean and my midsection still is not where I would like it. (sucks....but there is not much you can do about it)
I am well under 10%bf but look like I am 10-11% in the midsection.

Keep up the great work! It's tough, but the end result is worth it!
BF estimates are really tough! I think you need a hydro test to be sure. My fat seems to be mostly in the lower back, love handles and legs. I have veins on my serratus, but don't think I will ever see a vein on my quads!
A lot of people think I'm under 10%, but the calipers have me at 13%, while another trainer came up with 12-14% visually. My gym has a bod pod, but it's broken I really wanted to see what it comes up with.
So this is my 13%. Who knows??

DAMN....You look lean. I would say 8ish! But it goes to show that numbers can be misleading. In the end, the exact %bf means nothing. I use calipers, but only to track progress over time. Regardless of what number your chart says, you are lean as hell! Nice work.
Yep, I do most of my workouts from home. I have pretty much everything I need at home. Lots of weight, walk-in powercage, adjustable bench, leg press/ hack squat, cable cross with high and low pulls, lat pull dn and seated row, preacher bench, leg ext and seated leg curl and 5-120 ironmaster dumbells.
Only recently started going back to a gym just for the environment.RAW lifts

oh, your hand is in the way.
unless you are advertising/cruising, really.....just above the waist...we can clearly see what is going on in such shots....Lift as MUCH as you can, for as MANY reps as you can,
while in complete control of the exercise.

Thank you - but this doesn't show my back fat & love handles. I'm still hoping I'm really less than 13%
heh-heh
**but see below**
My apologies for violating your sensibilities. I had no idea that a glimpse of the very top of the pelvis could cause such distress. It certainly never occurred to me that my picture was at all suggestive. I guess I need to look at my pictures in a different light.
Please accept my assurances that the camera was not pointed low enough to take in any of the dangly bits and that therefore my hand is not there to preserve my modesty but simply because that is how I do the pose. (sorry DD!!)
I will, of course, try to remember to examine my pictures in the future to make sure they cannot be misinterpreted.
Thank you for your adviceLast edited by DocHoss; 02-27-2014 at 02:17 PM. Reason: edit: tried to rep you JG, but on spread :( Same with raynerd & DD.
