i have a feeling that bronn's speed, craftiness and dirty fighting tricks would give him the edge over anyone... honestly from the way he was described, oberyn was probably the best fighter, and he fairly easily beat the mountain, he just got cocky and didnt finish the job

Book informations:
Killed Maelys the Monstrous in single combat and ended the war of the ninepenny kings and defeated Ser Duncan the Tall when he was 16

Best fighters:
Robert in his prime
Jamie with right hand
Khal Drogo
Hound (underrated in the show, in the books he wasn´t killed by Brienne but apparently died from an infection)
Mountain (the strongest considering pure strenght, not fighting skills)

Mentions:
Bronn is just an ordinary sellsword, probably only a bit above the average knight
Jaquen is an assasin, no fighter
Brienne is also only a bit above the average knight, which makes her very strong for a woman. She defeated Jamie only because he lived 2 years in prison before and she didn´t fight and defeated the Hound in the books

It's true though. That scene was meant to be the departure scene from Arya that's in the books, except in the books, it's the tavern fight that leaves him almost dying because he's exhausted and has a fatally infected wound. Prime Hound would absolutely mangle her.

Well, I think Ned Stark is underrated, he killed the freaking Sword of the Morning, no one less than Arthur Dayne.

Also The Hound, Mountain and Drogo are the obvious choices.

Don't sleep on Victarion Greyjoy either, a freaking killer machine.

Barristan is an animal also.

I also have a hard time imagining who can beat prime Jaime Lannister.

Areo's axe is awesome as well.
