Do fingers get smaller on a cut?

Ive never cut before and just wondering do fingers get smaller on a cut? My fingers were quite lean when I was a yute but they've become quite fat, or are they determined by genetics? Thanks

Unless it's cheaper to just replace them, you can get them re-sized.

I took ace bandages, cut them in half lengthwise, and wrapped a few layers around it and it sits under my finger. It also really helps when lifting, i.e. no pinching of ring when deadlifting, rows, etc...

No problems with rings & lifting here.

OP, absolutely, yes they do. I teach guitar and I had a student who had very large with thick fingers. It was a serious problem. He couldn't depress the strings without the thickness of his fingers damping the adjacent strings. I told him he'd have to lose weight to play guitar. He did. I was very pleased he wanted to play that much.
