Hey guys. I've been working out for a few weeks now and I'm seeing some gains. I've gained 2 pounds of muscle in 3 weeks. I know that I'm an ectormorph (6 ft, 135 pounds) so I've been trying to eat a lot of food. I haven't been tracking my calorie intake(which I'll start soon), but I've been eating more than I'm used to. I've been aiming to get about 3200 cals a day, but I don't think I'm getting anywhere near that. I also have been using Whey Mass Gainer and it helps to get some of the calories, but I'm still short. Because I'm lacking in calorie intake, would it be okay to drink a little bit of soda every now and then so that I can intake some of the calories I'm missing out on? Or is this a bad idea? If you're an active 19 year old, 135 lbs, and 6' I wouldn't worry about it too much. In the short term if you ingest too much junk food you will just begin to feel bad. Over the long term, a period of months, you will start gaining a lot of fat in addition to muscle and begin to look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. To maintain a nice physique over the long term requires a commitment to nutrient dense foods (unprocessed food).
