So explain why there wasn't INTENT + prior planning/thought. He saw the girls egging his car, went and got his gun, and fired into their vehicle. that shows intent (reckless indifference to human life) + planning/thought. he had time to second guess himself. i don't think the charges are too much.

A single panel costs that much. An egging usually hits quite a few panels which amounts to thousands of dollars worth of damage. And you're thinking in terms of money when you really should be thinking in terms of the guy's time and effort he put into getting that money. You work hard and get a nice car, then some ******* comes along and damages it for ****s and giggles. By causing thousands of dollars of damage, the ******* basically took away all those hours of your life, plus whatever time you have to take to deal with cleaning up after them in your free time when you could have been doing something you enjoyed instead. And you know that unless you're some high profile citizen, cops can't or won't do **** for you. Vandalism happens all the time. And sure, some of you 10k a day CEOing types might be making that money back in a day, but the rest of us spent months saving that up, so even if I disagree with his shooting, I understand his anger.
