"How many sets do you have left"- When I say it I mean can you hurry up (mind you most guys at my gym are your stereotypical non-lifters that text more than lift). If it's some one who isn't this way it's more just me calling dibs. There's only one bench press at my gym so there's no confusion. I'll usually wait for the bench press as it's the start of my workout but any other piece of equipment I'll just find an alternative. It doesn't make me any less organized, I just like efficient workouts

mind = blown at you people who don't like people asking how many sets you've got left
That's like standard procedure mate.
You must get really irate when people ask to work in with you lulz
At my uni gym (nearly) everyone's cool with asking and sharing. It's so much more efficient given people rest in between sets

This is a legit question I ask all the time. I'd rather know if I'm waiting 1 minute or 10 minutes so I'm not standing around like an idiot. If it's a minute or so I'll just wait, change music, etc. If it's 10 minutes I'll do something in the mean time or look for a diff piece of equipment. Don't know why this would make you mad. I don't expect you to rush if I ask that question. A lot of times people tell me to take my time when they ask the question. If it's reasonable Ill ask if they wanna work in.

I appreciate that...
Don't mistake annoyed with mad...
Besides, after this thread, it looks like I need to adjust my way of thinking a bit. I seem slightly outnumbered.
Only been negged twice though. I appreciate having this discussion without people resorting to throwing reds around. Although, I have been called ******* more times than I care to count. Then again, OP is always a *******.

I don't ask because my workouts are not so strict that I can't do something else.
The only people that have asked me recently are people I am friendly with at the gym and it rarely happens. As long as they're not asking in the middle of a rep who cares??
What I do dislike is some kid trying to put up way too much weight and asking for a spot. Lower the weight.

I used to ask that all the time in my college gym (it was always busy as fuk). I would get asked too. Never really annoyed me, except when those people stood near me waiting
now I finally found a gym that is always pretty much empty. I never ask, no one asks me how many sets I have. There are too many machines/racks available to even ask
kinda like it more this way. If it bothers you that much, I'd suggest looking for another gym. There is always smth better

I am kind or rustled that a person would get annoyed and take longer rest periods.
I ask all the time and get asked all of the time. I only offer to let people work in if they are doing similar weights.
If people ask mid set how many sets you got left then you can flip your chit.
I would rather sit and wait opposed subing in and out while stripping on and off plates. I will only accept your offer if you are in my ball park.Finance Degree - USAF INTEL - IIFYM - Injured Crew - KTM XCW300 - Single Track Trail Rider - NRA Supporter - Shunned from MFC - Libertarian - Pragmatist

use commas. I have to disagree. if your not doing correct form or just screwing around on the machine then your wasting your own time and mine. I personally wouldnt kick you off of the equipment but I would ask how many sets you had left just to call dibs on it and let them know to speed it up. I only do this for squat racks, platforms, and benchpress tho.
