So based on your posts above, it sounds like your protein intake is somewhere around 1 gram per pound. Basically when I keep my protein around .9 grams per pound, my BUN hands around 16; but as soon as I go up 1.1 grams per pound my BUN goes between 20-23. That represents an increase of only about 16 grams of protein, but I've tracked this over 3 years (5 blood tests) and the protein / BUN relationship is like clockwork.
