I might enter. Made a bet with my bf that I could bench 135. Still not quite there but it's looking good so I might as well put an entry in seeing as my back stopped me from doing the last DL comp.

Just posted vid of my bench in the misc thread. I probably have honestly the crappiest relative bench # of any of the ladies here, considering I have been training for years in PL and have still never even benched BW :feelsbadman.jpg: So if I can suck it up and post a vid, I don't want the rest of you to use the excuse of "weak bench" as a reason not to

Yeah that was some arch birdiefu, nice lift! I try like hell to arch but I only end up with one tall enough to slide about 3 slices of bacon through haha. Also curious if you do anything special flexibility wise for that, I'd be happy to even get half that amount of arch, so far my back just does not want to bend that way.
Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

Thanks Nothing other than practice arching and getting real tight. Foot placement and legs (can't have tight hip flexors) also plays a big deal in arch for me too. If I don't have my feet back far enough (behind hips), I'll have butt off the bench once I'm using a lot of leg drive.

Mmm, bacon! I have bad shoulders and hips, so I have to do a ton of thoracic and hip mobility work. As those are the two ends of the "arch", I have a feeling that helps a ton with my golden gate there, lol. Actually had someone ask today if that hurts me, I was like "nah, I'm used to it". Basically, getting shoulderblades far back and down, while having limber hip flexors is the key for me.
When you start really working on arch, you will probably feel your spinals and QL cramping like a mofo. You'll get used to that over time and it will improve, just do lots of lax ball rolling for them. A tight arch/setup is going to be uncomfortable as hell if it's a good one.

Birdiefu--that's quite an arch! Awesome flexibility. I've been working hard on mine for over a year but still have really tight hips. Any tips? Are you able to get a good leg drive off your toes?
Do you arch like that in a meet? Does it impact your DL? I'm just curious because my lower back kills after bench.
