    Losing weight and vascularity? WTF!!!

I started a cut at 185, when i got to 180, i took a brake because of a sharp pain in my forearm that was probably tendonitis, i took 1 week off but kept the diet, just didn't lift. I noticed that i had gone down to 177 and i looked way more vascular, and looked a bit more lean, i could actually see my biceps veins and the veins on the inside of my forearm. Once i started lifting again it was immediate weight gain! My veins didn't show anymore, i managed to get to 175 but i still don't see the vascularity that i saw at 177 and didn't look as lean anymore. WTF IS GOING ON!!?!?!?!

    Magic!!!

It's called water weight fluctuations. Keep eating at a deficit and the fat will keep coming off.

    No witchcraft involved.

What happens day to day is irrelevant.

Cut for a month and then review your vascularity....

Why 4g per lb? carbs are non essential they do not have a set intake per lb.

There's a whole host of factors that influence vascularity at a given point in time (******t temperature, stimulant intake etc..)

If you're eating a deficit, meeting protein requirements, and doing resistance training you can bet the weight you're losing is fat.

Lower bodyfat means less sub-cutaneous fat which means greater possibility of vascularity.

    Keep cutting.

    I don't know.

Are you eating a deficit constantly?
Is your carb intake the same or does it change on work-out days?
When are you weighing yourself and is it under the same conditions (after using the bathroom, naked, etc..).

The stickies say that carbs are non-essential and to use them as you like to fill in after protein and fats are met. I think you may have read that carbs are 4 calories per gram and got it mixed up. Just a guess.

    No they dont.

Edit: They state "if you are an athlete involved in a good volume of training I would suggest you CALCULATE a requirement for carbs as a PRIORITY "

But hey if you are losing weight and it works for you its no biggie, I just wanted to clear that up.

As much as you want after you have calculated your protein and fat minimums...I though you read the nutrition stickies? or did you just skim over it..?

Calculate the protein and fat minimums your body requires for optimal functionality, then with the calories you have left you can either, get them all from carbs, or have more protein/fat with carbs.
