Jamie Anderson with Women's Slopestyle Gold. I know sports misc isn't into snowboarding as a whole but this is significant because:

1) With Sage Kotsenburg's win, the US just swept snowboarding slopestyle in it's first Olympics.

yo no homo but that chick was super impressive and i'm a guy that talks mad chit about figure skating

she skated like a grown ass woman.. most 15 year olds look like 15 year olds when they're skating

it's awkward though cause i barely saw a single smile out of either her or her mother/coach/whoever after she finished. like she absolutely hates what shes doing even though she's good at it

thought it was really weird how that japanese chick fell on one of her jumps but still scored higher than the US girl who didn't

For cross-country skiing, why does part of it have grooves/tracks already precut? I've never really paid attention to this event before. For some reason, I figured it was almost all 'free-style' or whatever they're covering now.

Edit: I guess my question is in how you're supposed to pass someone when they're all running in the same track. Do you hop into another track on an uphill to make a move?

most passes are made on the uphills by the skiers who are stronger at that aspect. if they do pass on the flat they just move to the outside or inside

I wouldn't even call it an upset, the team is pretty stacked. Losing H.Sedin is pretty big for them though.
