How much should a 15 year old be able to bench?

I often feel weak in the gym seeing myself as the one of the weakest people benching. Most of my friends do around 70-90, and my strongest friend who's 14 does 190-200. He's 6'2, 220 lbs. I usually do 100 for 6-8 reps. My one rep max is 120. I'm not sure if that's a lot and if it's not then what is? I was thinking anything 135+ for someone my age but I know this site has high standards. I have a pretty big chest even though I'm not all that strong. My chest is roughly 40 inches and my arms are 12-13. I'm 5'7, 130 so not all that big. I also feel like at this age, the taller you are, the stronger you are. My other stats are a 190 squat, and 245 deadlift(max).

    The bar, so 45lbs.

If we're talking elite level, eric lilliebridge benched 315 at 15 years old. Jesse Norris probably did some crazy **** too.

Depends so much on size and weight tho. for a guy of your frame, i've seen most kids who don't lift a done 1 rep at 115-145. I 1 rep 165 but I think I could get more now...

Taller does not mean stronger. Weight is a more important role than height in this scenario. You being 130 lb benching 120 is about average. If you can bench you're on body weight, that's good. However, not excellent. An impressive bench press for any person would be 1.5x their own body weight. That being said, a bench press in your weight range would be anywhere from 175-200.

most 15 year olds dont lift. so the bar as stated above.

    at 15 i benched 215lb
Contrary to popular belief, I dont actually bench 900lbs, as stated in my username.

    Supplement Stack:
    -Orange Triad
    -CreaCore
    -MusclePharm Fish Oil
    -Caffeine Tablets

Nutritional ketosis requires explicit reduction of CHO intake to generally lower than 50 g/d and, for some, <30 g/d. Protein must also be restricted, often to <1.8 g/d per kg body mass and sometimes to < 1.2 g/d per kg, with remaining calories composed from fat.

    Thumbs up No set weight

One thing I always heard was really good to do was try to bench your own weight at least once, if you can do that then your good.

Obviously that also depends on a lot of things, but for a beginner that's a good thing to go by.

It shouldn't really be based off of age but how much you weigh and how long you have been lifting for.

First off don't listen to Rustylifter , most 15 y/o's your frame bench about 115 MAX, also don't get to comparing yourself to others too much, it's a bad habit. Just go to the gym, bench the most you can (for the given amount of reps) and eat, it'll go up in no time.

Yes weight does matter. Weight matters a lot when it comes to bodybuilding and powerlifting.

If I weighed 400 pounds and benched 315, that wouldn't be as impressive as a 200 pounder benching 315

what should matter is the percentage of your bodyweight ur benching, it also matters on the rate of improvement. I weigh 187 and max out at 255 but ive been seriously lifting for around 3 years

What ever is heavy for you, Don't compare your strength to others. You will not make much progress trying to do what the guy next to you is doing

    Good luck n keep lifting

Been lifting seriously for around 7 months now, 3 months bulking. Last chest day I've benched 60kg (132lbs) x10. I'm 16 though.

I started lifting at around 16 years old.
    I was 5ft 4in, 115 lbs, and benching 90lbs for about 6 reps. haha
In about a year, I got my bench up to 185 x 1.

    We all start somewhere dude.
