    5 months training log before 1st pro-fight.

    Stats:
    Height 193sm, 6.4 feet,
    Age: 24.
Starting weight: 294lbs. Goal weight: 250lbs
Starting BF: 25% Goal BF: 12%.
    Background: Sambo, MT.
    Location: Toronto.

Have trained MMA for almost 5 1/2 years now. Was doing Judo/Sambo for 4 years when I was a kid back in Russia.

Just graduated from Uni, and before working in Europe want to take 2-3 pro-fights. Coming off a knee injury and some personal drama, so gained around 15 pounds in a month.

Now, I have give or take 5 months to get into a serious shape. Log will follow mostly nutrition and training.

For Future reference: Weight training consists of heavy compound barbell exercises. (2-7 reps, 4-6 sets).
Most days at my MMA gym I will train with Kettle-bells ( Circuit training, super-sets).

Diet: I prefer working out on Empty stomach. Focus on eating lots of vegetables, lots of meats/animal organs, fruits, sweet potato to curb hunger ( Nothing works against curbing hunger like sweet potato huh). No milk, No grains.
3 months out I will start tracking my calories, but for now, I want to take good long break from dieting and thinking about food too much.

    The PLAN:
FEB: Focus on Knee rehab, "loosing up", and working on my diet.
March: Focus on Stand-up, start light sparring, strong focus on power training and flexibility.
Apr.: Hopefully knee will be fine by then, start heavy sparring, start working on ground game, keep the power training.
May-June: Full training camp with all that comes with it.

I want to keep this log, because it is rewarding to discuss your training and progress with others and diet logs are bloody boring to follow.

    Lets get to work.

I'd count calories if you're serious about training, at least get a ballpark figure. Which it seems like you're kinda doing so that's good

45-50 lbs is a lot to cut in 5 months. 10 lbs a month, so 2.5 lbs a week. Normally I'd cut cals by 500 and drop about 1-2lbs a week.

What weight class are you going to be fighting in?

Any idea on how you plan on winning your fight?

Thanks mate. I am keeping the rough estimate of how much I eat every day. But I don't want to get back into the calorie counting for a while.
I need to make 265 limit, so as long as I get to 270 - no problem. But generally I feel 250-255lbs is my best weight, I feel very fast compared to other big guys in my gym when I am in my 260s. I haven't been that low in 6 years, but then again - my body changed since then.

I am also banking on quick drop to 275, since my body was at that weight for a while.

Day 5-6: Light weight training - around 1 hour each. Calories around 2800, mostly carbs.

    Day 2-3
I am staying within 2400 calorie limit.
Ate 4-6 big shakes of veggies fruits blended plus some organic pork. Yesterday ate some junk food, but not over 1000 calories. No more coffee - that stuff is killing my joints.

Training wise - fcking tired. I am starting to train twice per day - don't worry the intensity is relatively low, will ramp up gradually.

Gave my computer to coach lol. So that I don't waste time at cozy home anymore. Books and training that's it.

    Knee feels ok.

Will post 1-3 per week since I don't have my Mac now

    Day 4-7:
Have kept calories around 2000-4000 per day.

Have worked out twice on Monday, however, took time off for couple of exams for 3 days.

Have been back to the gym today.

To tell the truth is barely possible to have a log without computer. Let me see if I can get some device to write from at home, otherwise this log is terminated. Sorry guys !
