Hi all, I made a thread a few days ago but everyone thought I was referring to 'pre-workout' so none of the replies were that helpful.
After a gruelling training session and I'm sweating like crazy. What vitamins and minerals is my body craving for?
I just want something to help recovery.

You could always try sugar free Gatorade to replenish some minerals. I personally like to drink Gatorade after workout, its cheap and it tastes good.

You seem to think that we're hiding the information from you. Post workout shakes are usually comprised of BCAAs/protein and carbohydrates. Which can be attained through whole food meals, so purchasing a post workout is not necessary.
In terms of your body "craving" certain vitamins and minerals, you're assuming that the workout makes you deficient in some micronutrients. You then go on to say that you're looking to bolster recovery, which, in all honesty, is more contingent upon diet and resting patterns rather than peri-workout supplementation (and nutrition, for that matter).

Nurse here. Vitamin deficiencies that would be present post workout would also be present pre workout unless you competed in a marathon. Electrolyte deficiencies (minerals) will manifest as cramps, nausea/vomiting and various arrhythmias. You do not commonly hear about people dropping dead in the gym because their potassium ran low. The only time this is really a problem is when people cut water to make weight and their mag or k may be unbalanced. There are tribes in Africa that hunt animals in the blazing heat by running them till the animal collapses and at which point they stab them. These people have made it thousands of years without post workout multivitamins. Stop being such a ninny. Consume your multivitamins with a fatty meal and if you want to actually be proactive with your body take a college course on physiology and stop this embarrassing bro science.
