    Smile Deadlift appreciation thread

I started deadlifting about 2 months ago, and have become instantly obsessed. I started a 3x5 workout on January 1st, and went from 40kg deadlift x5 to 70kg x5 in a month (I got 70kg today.)

I know it's not a significant weight to deadlift compared to some people, but I'm so proud of my progress and all I can think about is my next deadlift day, and I can't wait to see how much more I can pull!

I practise form around the house all day, and it's made me fall in love with powerlifting, srs

Anyway, I'd love to know everyone else's progress on here

I'm loving the deadlifts too. I'm on Cycle 2/day 1 of All Pros routine. Deadlift went up to 67.5kg today. Thankfully I only had to do 8 reps lol. That bar was beginning to slip by the 6th rep.

I just love how much better my hammies look and feel already, after only about three weeks of seriously doing them. I do need to work on hand and forearm strength though because I can deadlift more weight than I can hold. Will definitely look at getting versas grip this week. Thank you!

Ditto on the versa grips and deadlifts. I started back deadlifting about 10 weeks ago and could only do 60kg. Feel like the queen of the world today cause I got 90kg for one rep

I think the hex deadlift is easier to maneuver because the weight is on either side, so more of a straight up motion than an up and back motion. A little more quad vs back and posterior chain.

Yeah, agreed with this. Never tried it, I always use a barbell, but I assumed it'd be more quads working when you pull And I guess it would be easier

Deadlift is def my fave and where I feel strongest but my hypermobility often becomes an issue when training for strength. Currently taking time off because of some sacoriliac joint issues.
I have no idea what I'm doing, I just fkking do it.
If it's hard that just means you need to do it more until it isn't.

IMHO the hex bar is more like a squat-deadlift rather than a deadlift. I didn't really like it TBH... I'd rather do squats and deadlifts separately!!

    LOVE DEADLIFTS!!!

How much does an American plate weigh? 90kg for 8 reps, 120kg for 2 and 130kg for 0.5 (almost one) so thinking 1RM got to be about 125kg which is about £275lbs - how many plates is that?
-101,221, I can see the light - thanks
    -129,871, getting closer
-150,000, more than half way there!

    100kg = Standard Oly Bar + 2 (20kg) plates on each side.

So 20kg qualifies as as 'plate' which would be about 44lbs?
