More info on Protoshares & Cuda Mining
http://invictus.io/bitshares-pts.php
At this point in time [1/29/2014] - 1 PTS = $13.22
Started from OCN
This is for if you already have an Nvidia GPU and want to mine effectively with it. Wouldn't really buy a whole uber mining rig with nvidia gpu's though, AMD still has a bit of an edge.A single 7970 can pull about $10 a day right now while a 780 Ti is getting just over $9 a day.
-------------------------
First we are going to create the three accounts you will need: one for mining, one for trading PTS to BTC, and one for converting BTC to USD to transfer to paypal.
Go to http://ypool.net and sign up for a new account. This is where you will mine PTS. Next, up at the top where it says Current Coin Mode: XPM click on it and switch to Protoshares (the light blue icon).
On the left side click on Account -> Main Options and now leave this tab open.
Open another tab and go to the link below and create an account. This is where you will trade PTS to BTC and if you sign up with the link below you will receive 10% off all trading fees which adds up quickly:
http://bter.com/signup/146999
Once you have signed in, go to Account
Scroll down to ProtoShare PTS and click on deposit. Copy that address in red and go back to your ypool tab and paste that into the Payment Address. In the Automatic Payment section type whatever value you would like (I have 1.0 in mine). This is how often it will send the coins you mine to your Bter account. Make sure to click save.
Now you need one more account. Go to http://btc-e.com and signup for a new account. This is where you will send Bitcoins that you have traded for from PTS from Bter. btc-e lets you withdraw the money to paypal so this is the final step.
Now we need to download the miner. Go to:
Miner Link
And click Download to Computer. Unzip the file and edit the mine.bat and put in your username on the first line where it says USERNAME.PTS_1. Now just save it and double click on mine.bat and you should see it start mining! (see screenshot below for what it should look like)
You can go to the link below and see all your connected miners and you should start seeing shares being submitted which are then credited to your account!
http://ypool.net/pts/workers_live
Done!
--------------------
^^ is +/- like 10%, I have a 780 ti mining right now at about 1900 CPM, so may vary.Code:Below is a link to calculate how many Protoshares you should expect to be mining every 24 hours, although you need to know your cards CPM (See below). http://mrx.im/pts.php? Common Stock GPU Performance Figures: GTX 560 Ti - 625 CPM GTX 660 - 800 CPM GTX 660 Ti - 950 CPM GTX 480 - 1000 CPM GTX 760 - 1150 CPM GTX 580 - 1225 CPM GTX 670 - 1300 CPM GTX 680 - 1400 CPM GTX 770 - 1500 CPM GTX 780 - 1750 CPM GTX 780 Ti - 2000 CPM GTX Titan - 2100 CPM GTX 690 - 2200 CPM
TIP: Seems as though overclocking the core does not have much of a performance increase as overclocking the memory.
--------------
You can also use your CPU to mine these as well if you're doing something GPU intensive but the CPU isn't doing much, just go to the ypool -> how to then protoshares and follow those instructions.
Even though its less cpm, its still more than 0.
You can run both at the same time too but only recommend if your power supply can handle that and you're not doing anything because it'll be a lagfest.
-------------------------
Disclaimer : Do this at your own risk! Not responsible if your card blows up, house catches on fire or the like. So make sure your card has adequate cooling and airflow.

I have a 2600k cpu which has an integrated GPU so what I do is enable that then plug my input into the motherboard and its adequate enough to browse and watch videos. I just switch it back when I want to play games or whatever.
So if you have a Sandybridge, Ivybridge or Haswell architecture CPU then you can use integrated also."No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training…what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."

Edit: I run a SLI config. Could i dedicate one gpu for mining and one for "other"-ing?Swedish Master Race Crew

The measurement is CPM which is collisions per minute. Your application should be displaying how much collusions/min you're doing. You can use the calculator in the OP to get a rough estimate.

how much more will I get if I do CPU+GPU mining?
4770k
780 SLI
where do I check how much CPM I get?
on the website it says 330 shares value/hWhen you think you’re done you’re only 40% into what your body is capable of doing and that’s just the limits that we put on ourselves. - David Goggins

Disabling SLI actually gets higher CPM, you'll get roughly 1500-1600 each so 3k+ in total. My 2600k gets like 180 CPM on the cpu mining whereas my 780 ti gets 1800.....cpu isnt worth it in my opinion, can't use the computer or anything without hiccups while it is only doing a fraction of the work my gpu is doing.
