I am kinda in the same boat Zack, I like getting stronger, and I enjoy having a base level of strength which can always be improved upon. I've not competed yet, but I think I'll try to compete at least 1x per year just for the sake of satisfying my competitive nature.

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

Didn't DJ Khaled make a song about that? "All I do is lift, lift, lift, no matter what". Huehueh.
That doesn't mean it's a bad thing.
Ultimately, you should do what you want in your life and find your own meaning to life. There is no intrinsic meaning so if you enjoy lifting and find that good then you should pursue it. If you've grown tired and don't enjoy it then, sure, stop or don't take it as seriously.
Psuedo-philosophical or not, Mark Bell's audio in "Powerlifting Mentality" is exactly right. This sport isn't dangerous enough that you're gonna die but you might hurt your back or tear a bicep or whatnot. Still, when you're 50 you're probably gonna have those pains regardless. Most people don't lift and have back pain, I'd rather squat heavy and have back pain.
Balance can be important though. But it doesn't have to be. It all really depends on your goals. If all you care about is lifting and nothing else brings you joy then dedicate your life to it and enjoy. Balance is important for most because we have various goals that sometimes infringe on other goals but it's possible to achieve all of those.202.5/135/245. Bro I'd really love to bench 500 raw some day and or total 1900 raw. Those are goals that I've set for MYSELF. As of right now I have no real ambition to pursue them. Maybe it's just a phase I'm going through and I need to just chill with training for a while and do some bodybuilding stuff. We'll see.

Not really I wanted to lift pretty badly. I'm still fighting my hamstring and I'm still not able to lift to the best of my abilities because I can't pull sumo with any frequency or load. It's annoying as hell to be honest. I mean it's been a year. I'll give it some time and if I'm still not motivated to lift in a way that will push me towards my goals I'll be taking an indefinite powerlifting vacay.
