Was supposed to do SLDL's next but my lower back was starting to hurt real bad and i was scared sldl's would really make it hurt so i did reverse hypers instead. glad i did that as my back feels great now with no pain at all.

    weighted obliques
started to do weighted side bends but it made my back hurt real back so i skipped these and will perform them on my upper day now that back feels better.

Today was alright, happy about the PR on cgbp. A guy worked in with me, and he was cool, bout my size and benched 275x4, which was pretty solid to see with good form. 135x5 press was easy enough. I suck at bent rows and did not get much sleep again lol.

Looking forward to going back to a volume block. Feeling somewhat emotionally "off" this week in the gym, might be the transition back to school after the strike that happened for 3 weeks. Anyway, going to keep doing my best at training, and get a 275 bench by June.

    Conditioning (lol)

5 mins of steady state on bike. Was supposed to be 15 mins of HIIT. Was far, far too drained for that shiit.

    Commentary

Well today was pretty awesome, squat prs are nice, and I got in a chitton of volume after. Might have had 1 more set left in me but I didn't wanna be there all day lol. I fukced up the unrack on 2 sets which was annoying. Also hit the safety pins in the hole on one set which threw that rep of really badly. That was the hardest backoff rep of them all.

Deficits moved faster than they ever have, like lightspeed srs. Then 275 things got slower which was ghey. Only hit 315x2 because I felt like I was gonna puke for some reason.

Fuk front squats for more than 3 reps.

    Fuk cardio.

    Commentary

Very happy with how today went! 205 moved well, and I was more consistent with some longer pauses. My best ever set of 205 was 6 with touch and go reps, so long ish pauses for 4 @ 9 is definitely an improvement. Then I got a fuuuukkload of backoff work which made me really happy, since I need to build some muscle and work on technique. Had a solid chest and tri pump at this point.

Inclines were good, I thought 155 was gonna be my top set but I just smashed it and was embarrassed that I asked for a spot lol. So I did 165 with hardly any rest right after. Then only got 1 backoff set. I'd rather my backoff volume be on the bench anyway.

In light of all the stuff on the interwebs lately I figured out somewhat how to use my lats in the bench today which was cool. Learned it from the vid that Chris Duffin put up. Didn't really use it on the heavier work because I'm still learning.

Finished off with a bit of cardio, was way too sore to do 15 mins of hiit so I did like 8 mins hiit then 2 mins liss. Then I rolled and stretched and feel like a million bucks atm. Onward and upward!

    other stuff

Doollas, nice training and videos mang.

Patsy, really hoping you'll feel better soon, you're in my thoughts!

    Commentary

Pause DLs FINALLY felt good. I kept the weight fairly light but I made the pauses very deliberate and for an honest 2 count. I felt no rounding over or anything whatsoever, very happy about that. I think that doing these with sloppy form is kinda pointless since they are partially meant to correct the DL in the first place.

Pause squats felt weak as **** today for some reason, but whatever. I'll live. Elbows were hella achey after each set of squats, the pullovers in the workout yesterday hurt my elbows a bit. Crie everytm.

SLDLs felt solid today as well. Things are still looking good. I think in the next several weeks there will be a solid amount of progress made in all lifts. Loving this kind of training and Dallas is doing a great job programming.

    Commentary

Solid workout today, had a chitty day leading up to this point but the gym made me happy. 215x5 is awesome for me with regular grip @ 10, but for a close grip @ 9 it's a really big PR. Bench must be up a few lbs now! Press went well too, I am happy that I can hit a plate for reps now and actually get some work done with it.

Then I did the tris for the guys and left. I like that the workouts are shorter now, I have some upper body accessory stuff tomorrow which I will probably hit fairly hard.

Elbows felt like crap earlier in the day, from the pullovers. IDK if I will keep doing those or not, will talk to Doollas, but they really aggravated some chit in there, especially with the squats yesterday. But they somehow felt fine during the workout, I don't know if it was just a mental thing of blocking out the irritation or what, but I'm ok with it lol.

PR train keeps going with no intentions of stopping.

    Commentary

Had a great day today, 4 PRs. Still not pausing long enough I don't think. It's probably just a bit longer than a competition pause. Bench is making some moves now! Once my deadlift follows suit I'll be a happy camper. Anyway it was pissening volume and I am going to have sore tits tomorrow. Incline was great too.

Did some mobility after, which felt good. Quads are dead from yesterday. I feel like 275 will most definitely be in reach for the bench, come meet time.

Not much else to say. Doollas knows how to program lol!

    Commentary

Fukc this chit I'm done. I feel so dead right now lol. The pause DLs felt off today, just had a bad day in general, lots of school, not much food or sleep.

Pause squats are fun until you do 10 fukn sets of them. I was going to stop after my first backoff, but as I went they just kept feeling better and better, so I was like u wot m8? Then I did em for a while, like I said I did a huge pause on the last rep just to make it hard enough.

SLDLs were just the icing on the cake of a foolish day lol.

I hope I wake up tomorrow srs

    Commentary

Woohoo, my upper body stuff is flying lately. 225x3 was a rep PR at that weight regardless of grip, and it went up easily. I think I could have done 2 more if I really grinded it. For some reason though the backoff set was way harder than the top set so I only got one.

Press went well, as I said I hit 7 because 6 wasn't at a 10, I hope Doollas doesn't kill me for modifying things . But that was a big PR. I have found that pressing doesn't drive my bench up, but my bench and variations seems to drive my press up.

I hate lateral raises because my arms behave totally differently and I can't do them right, since my left shoulder dislocated before it's all weird now. Not sure if that can be fixed or if it's really affecting anything anyway. But it's annoying.

Pushdowns were sickening, got a really insane pump from them, only rested likke 20-30 sec between sets.

School / life has been weird this week, been feeling kinda off emotionally. Time of the month or something LOL. Hopefully things will be better soon (not that they're bad right now)

Doing some back + bis tomorrow and a bit of cardio.

    Welcome back Patsy!

Had to wait about 15-20 mins for a rack, so I actually did a bit of warming up today, and my groin / hip flexors felt a lot better in the first few warmups of squats than they usually do. I don't mind waiting because there's always something to do anyway, and I hog the rack myself once I get it.

Today went awesome. Know that 5 rep max I hit last week? Yeah hit that fukcer for 7 today. Come at me lolol. Backoff work for sets of 6 sucked hard. Had a few people mirin' my poverty squat lol. Got a friend who works at the gym to check depth and she said it was good. I showed her what I wanted to go to (below parallel) and she said I replicated that so I'm happy with it. I know I shouldn't do it but I check depth in the mirror when I squat anyway. I'll start squatting in front of a towel leading up to the meet to get used to not having the mirror there.

Hit the deadlift shrug reverse curl with 185, shoutout Filmbuff brah <3. It was UGLY lol. Not sure if anyone has ever grinded a "power clean" LOL.

Trying a new set up for DL, hips higher is main change. Felt good, would have done more weight but wanted perfect technique, and the bar rubbed hard and slowed down on the chubbiness of my quadflabs. Is hellaa annoying. Backoffs here felt good too.

Then I didn't do front squat backoffs because some guys wanted the rack and I was dead. Might have been able to hit 1 backoff set there, that'd be it though. I'll do a bit of quad work at home tonight to make up for it.

Things are going very very well as of late.

Gym got some TRX rigs so I tried those out and did 2x10 inverted rows, pretty good lat pump from them. Felt like a ******* doing them though.

    Commentary

Don't let the PRs deceive you, this was a ****ty day lol. Couldn't get my head right, and things felt like crap. Woke up really late today and didn't have much to eat prior to the session either. Oh well though, if I can hit some PRs on a crappy day after a few weeks of volume work I think after some intensity stuff and peaking my strength should be fairly high compared to before.

Benching was silly, just could not find the groove. I think I did a TNG for one of the reps in my backoff sets, that's how not focused I was today lol. Incline felt better than benching. I think the incline is doing me well, seems to be helping everything out. (It's the secret to squat gainz).

Was gonna do some pulldowns but it was being used so I said fk it and did the ****gyrows instead. They were alright though. Some GPP/accessory stuff tomorrow.

I remember hitting 225 for a single recently, and being stoked on that. But repping it now, with a close grip for 5 is awesome. Very happy. Bench and squat are definitely up from this programming. Looking forward to the mock meet.

The backoffs didn't go well since I felt not awesome, just an average day. Not as much volume as I would have liked but whatever. Tricep pump OF DA GAWD from the pushdowns.

    Back stuff tomorrow.

I'm very confused right now. I don't have bad squat sessions. This is the worst squats have been for me in a long time. Probably the worst session ever for me actually. I hit 355x3 @ 10 a month or so ago, so I figured that I would be able to do 355x3@9 today. I hit 355x1, and it felt awful. So I thought this was some weird mental bullshiit, tried it again, hit the safeties on the way down and didn't make the lift. I think shutting it down was the right thing for me to do. I went in on about 4 hrs sleep but that's not an excuse, especially since the rest of the session was good.

Bench went so much better than I expected it to. 185 felt really easy, so I figured I'd go for broke and try 2 plates. Went up well. My bad shoulder was giving me **** though, and I couldn't lockout like normal. I aggravated it on Friday doing close grips. Anyway, the bar went up all crooked and weird but technique was otherwise good. My left arm (bad shoulder-arm) felt like crap all day for reasons unknown.

Deficits felt very smooth, my new form is coming along well. Speed on deadlifts is good like normal.

I think I made it through the benching and deadlifting running on anger from the shiitty squatting. Just mad and confused a bit right now but I'll let it go and be good for next session. Gonna try and study and pass my physiology exam tomorrow.

445 is 10lb off an all time PR. This early in the training cycle I feel really good about that. The back down set felt awful but its not a big deal. Early in training and I already hit the heavier weights.

    Deficit Deads

    455x2x2@8

Happy here. Felt really strong even with lower back being a little fatigued from squats.

    Front Squats

    225x5@8

    245x2x5@8.5

Maybe could have handled more here. Not a movement I do often and I was playing around with how to hold the bar for awhile. Feeling these will quickly get stronger. Already wanting to take a shot at 315.

    BW Pullups 5x5

Great session tonight. Training is going better than it has in a long long time. Doollas is doing a great job so far. Video is posted from today.

    Commentary

Today was a pretty easy session, and I needed it mentally after yesterday. The incline went weird. I did a brief pause for each rep, and I will start doing so for my close grips too, just to emphasize the pause aspect of a competition bench, and I figure doing it on the bench vars will help my actual bench. Got way too many backoffs for some reason lol, but I did reps on the last set until I reached RPE 8 again.

Front squats went well also. I am happy with 225x3, coulda done a bit more though. I hate front squatting though, they crushed my windpipe more than usual today.

I liked the condtioning finisher thing, and I'm gonna do them very often to get into decent enough shape to be able to run for my ultimate frisbee season.

Good day all in all. Incline's been moving fairly well lately.
