My "if I win the lottery" list of cars has always, going back to when I was like 14, started with these two:

The car I would get would probably depend on where I end up living, but I probably would have some obscure set of classes for each car.

Small car with powerful engine
medium car with powerful engine
Big fast SUV
Big Comfortable SUV.
Boat car
etc...

Aside: Amazon is adding HBO shows to its catalog of instant videos.

I got a water bottle off of Amazon to replace my misplaced Nalgene. I was excited since it was stainless steel, but when it arrived I was disappointed as it had a "made in China" sticker. I immediately looked for the brand and it wasn't even Nalgene.

Otherwise, I think Amazon's pretty cool.

Sure, and I guess AWD is the logical choice if you want to maximize 0-60 times which obviously help sell cars.

I'm a fan of that formula but there's no free lunch. Drive it sedately and you will obviously use a lot less fuel in city driving than a car with a larger engine. Thrash it and you'll probably use as much if not more because to stay on boost you'll be pushing the engine much harder. Where you can cruise around in 4th/5th in a V8 and still have some decent power down low, in a turbo four you need to constantly be thinking of when you'll need one of those first 3 gears.

You also need to be aware of speeds where you can get caught out by a lack of torque off boost. For example the TCU won't let me select 1st from another gear at 30 mph but it's still too low in the rev range to get a real boost from 2nd. You can always brake boost but if you needed immediate power then you're sh*t out of luck. Same deal at around 55 mph. Too high to select 2nd and 3rd would still be winding up. Get on the gas at 20-25 in 1st or 45-50 in 2nd and it's brutal, especially in cold weather.

So to get the most out of it you need to anticipate a lot more than you would driving a V8 and that's not going to suit everyone.

This is the very reason I love my diesels. I catch a lot of people out cruising at 60, get on the accelerator and I'm at 100 in no time.

I wish more gas stations here sold E85. You can run a lot more boost on stock internals and get a nice power increase.

Here's an old Forester on an E85 tune doing an 11.1 quarter mile on stock internals.

Also, IIRC, it was no better for the environment, as they used more natural gas to process and create it, than it actually produced as fuel or something.
