Come on, guys. The OP has both Jefferson and Paul in his signature, surely he's not expecting us to take him too seriously.

This always irk me. I agree that with age comes different perspectives, but your complete dismissal of someone based on their age alone shows that age doesn't teach maturity; experience comes to people in different ways and times. Not to mention, someone who was truly wiser due to their age could simply explain their perspective without resulting to, "you'll understand one day."

ffs he's talking about people who say X diets don't work because X diet didn't make them shredded over night... (in other words a matter of lack of self-discipline combined with no knowledge -> or let's just say the average gym goer)
...he's not talking about someone who knows his **** about nutrition (which can very well be someone with 13+% bf)

I usually don't, but someone goes way OT to take a stab at my sig, which has nothing to do with the topic, it's yet another indication of maturity. She simply opened the can of worms.
When it comes to politics, I will say, age absolutely has a lot to do with it as well. How many years you have been been paying taxes, working, experiencing several different presidential elections and terms, etc, all combine to gives you a more informed and, what I would consider, experienced decision, to conclude your take on politics, political affiliation etc. reading some books and never having actually lived through any hardships as an adult has hardly molded anyone.
This is why many people end up with different political views from the time they are in college, to the time they have been in the work force and out of college for 10-20 years. One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.

02-01-2014, 06:14 PM #49- Your mindset influences your outcome. It's time to take out phrases like "I can't" or "I don't have time" and replace them with phrases like "I will make the time" and "I will keep working at it until I find a way that works." Success starts with the right mindset and believing in yourself and your dreams.

You do realize Jefferson was one of the most spoiled presidents the US has ever had, right? like i'm amazed the guy even wiped his own ass and wouldn't at all be surprised if documents were recovered tomorrow evincing that he didn't even do that much
don't get me wrong, jefferson is a fascinating political and intellectual figure; basically anyone associated with the Enlightenment is (not my cup of tea tho... too much cognitive dissonance going on in those heads...), but don't tell me i'll understand jefferson better when i get older when it's clear you don't know anything about him beyond what you pulled from BrainyQuote.com.
as for the can of worms... yeah, it's the misc. lighten tf up. your thread was dumb and i made it slightly better with my presence
