I have not posted in the thread for a while but i have not given up... I just don't write much. This week has been the first week I have felt like I was just spinning my wheels and not going anywhere, I have been stuck at 98kg since last friday, the scale has not moved at all in that regard, one thing that makes me feel a bit better about the week is that my scales body fat thingy, that had been trending down since the start of the year dropped another % in the past week, even with my weight not changing. I hope that the stall is some temporary thing but I don't think I am quite going to make my goal by the first, but I am still on track for my longer term goals and this thread has been a huge help in staying motivated. I may not post that often but I check in and read all the new posts every day.

Last weight in this competition - 170.9lbs.
Since this is the last weight-in this competition I have to say that I'm overall happy with my results. I set for myself a goal of losing 20lbs this competition and I've managed to do that. I've also went from like 20+% body fat to around 12-13%. I was kinda hoping I would start a bulk at the end of this comp, but looks like I have a good 6-10lbs to go. Can't wait to shred that fat it and start packing on some muscle.
See you in next comp guys.Starting weight 9-1: 235.5lbs
Current weight 7-6: 164.2lbs
Total weight loss: 71.3lbs

...
my weight fluctuated within a narrow range all week - 125.5 to 126.5. i still don't know how i'm able to do that when i don't count cals, lol... core is feeling pretty tight underneath a layer of fat.
126 lbs today
i'll post the top ten later if the sheet's ready. idk. i haven't checked it.start where you are

157 today. Started this thing at 180. Rounding out the home stretch here! It's been a pretty cool journey going from manboobs to seeing at least the beginnings of some ab definition. I see this as a health/wellness and quality of life journey, but I'm def looking forward to being able to rock it shirtless this summer and feel more confident than last year.
Let's finish strong everyone!

I dont think its really a matter of cravings for me. I cut 41 lbs in 4 months and ended up doing 50 or so by 7 months. Then fell off track and yoyo'd for year and half with nagging consistent thoughts about getting back on track. I dont live near a beach or even a lake so getting to 10-12% bf doesnt really matter. Its a matter of looking great in a shirt. I wanted to lose wt to join the airforce then once i lost it, I just didnt want to do it anymore so that was the main motivation at first. Im thinking it might be time to do a 3 month bulk hopefully as leanest as possible. My view on it is, I do know how to cut weight, however I don't want to dip in the 150s just to be at 10%. Might as well gain some mass, and if I do it right I shouldn't increase much fat wise.

Good morning everyone.
Still staying away from the scale but keeping up with the activity on this thread.
As for me, dragging my a$$ out of bed and getting a workout in as the first order of the day has been paying off so far. While I still hate hearing the alarm going off I am starting to notice how much better I feel on the days that I do workout first thing. As a bonus I have missed/postponed less workouts than I normally would have in the evenings and my focus stays on the family.
The weather has still been pretty chilly around here but I am still riding my bike into work every day it isn't raining. (I don't mind being a little cold but being wet and cold just plain sucks). I actually managed to make 1 tank of fuel in my truck last 4 weeks due to the bike commuting. This past weekend even afforded me the opportunity to break away from the family for a bit and get in a slightly longer bike ride. My wife's Jeep needed new tires so I tossed the bike in the back, dropped it off at the shop and spent the next hour riding. I'm going to try my first ever 100km (60 mi) ride by the end of June.

Frontman44, you're making me kick myself again for getting rid of my bike. you must be in great shape right now, even if you think you still have more to lose.
last week's "top ten":
link to the spreadsheet:
http://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/c...UE&usp=sharing
i proofed the total lbs lost column. a handful of you will see a difference there if you checked the sheet yesterday.
...
i didn't get my full body workout in on Friday so i did it yesterday. feeling great.
also, i found a before selfie vid of my face from 2009 so i shot an after. i wasn't sure who would want to see that, lol, but maybe heavier females would like to see? let me know. i don't think i'll be posting it in the forums, but i have pm'd it to a handful of friends out here.Last edited by caprica6; 04-27-2014 at 06:35 AM.

well... to sum up the last 3 months.. February was a disaster. I didnt really start until March 1st. March saw good progress, but April was pretty inconsistent. All in all lost only about 6 lbs since Feb 1st, but some good takeaways:
- since March 1st I've logged every single day of nutrition. good days, bad days, I've got it all.
- the info I collected makes me have a better feel for approach going forwards.
- waist size has gone down - it's my biggest driving goal - to get that down.
- alcohol is the single biggest reason why I'm overweight. I've caved in too much in April. gotta keep my personal goal ahead of social obligations.
- it's better to plan for (and lose) 5 lbs in a month, than to plan for 7.5lbs and achieve only 1 or 2.
long road ahead. I'm in though. Going to look to sign up for the next round starting May 1st.March 1st - August 31st cut:
March 1: 217 | March 8: 215.6 | March 15: 212.8 | March 22: 214.2 | March 29: 210.8 <--- down 6.2 lbs
April 5: xxx | April 12: 211 | April 19: 209.4 | April 26: 209.2 <--- down 1.6 lbs
May 3: 207.2 | May 10: 204.6 | May 17: 202.2 | May 22: 199.4 | May 31: 202.8 <--- down 6.4 lbs
June 7: xxx | June 14: xxx | June 21: xxx | June 28: xxx
ultimate goal: 180lbs, 10% bfat

Good quality, entry level commuter bikes cost about the same amount of money I would put into my fuel tank every 6 weeks ($400 - $500). My advice to you would be to speak to the folks at a couple local bike shops and have them let you know when someone comes in and upgrades. You could be back on two wheels for a bargain considering used cycles go for 30 - 50% of original cost. Just something to consder if you miss the bike that much If you do get another one I recommend the Strava app for your smartphone. Great way to track rides/runs.
I am in great shape...round is a shape right? In all seriousness, I have noticed little things that end up meaning a great deal when they happen, such as I don't get winded walking into work from the parking lot like I would have before or I'm able run around with my kids for longer periods and have more fun doing it because I'm not weezing and gasping for breath after a couple minutes.
I might not have the beach body I want yet...but I'm happy with where I am now compared to where I was."Success requires no apologies, failure permits no alibis"

Diet was off Sunday, not bad, just to much. Did yard work/garden for 6 hrs., then hit the gym for 1 mile on the treadmill + leg day. Little sore this morning... So, back to the gym this morning 1.5 mile (hard/sore), then upper body workout. Just finished an hours in the garden...Family wants to hit the gym this afternoon....thinking I may try 3 miles.

Totally yolo'd my diet last night. Had two jim beam and diet cokes which hit me stupid hard. Afterwards, I smashed down 2 baskets of tortilla chips, a large chicken and pineapple quesadilla, oh and then, I had to order some fried ice cream. Probably ended the day around 4200-4500 calories, not that bad actually lol
