Nope it's the truth. If society really cared about poverty, the laws would reflect that. Public would put pressure to cut funding in certain areas to increase foreign aid or spending on social welfare programs, or argue for a restructuring to the tax system, etc. You also vote with your dollars. Some people donate, some would rather buy tickets to watch grown men play with balls and sticks that were made by peasants in China. People have just learned how to live in a constant state of denial to how selfish we really are.

100%. My Indian friends are all pretty successful. Mid-20's and we've got CPA's, CFA's, MBA's, one is in med school, some are in law school, all our families are pretty well off. Only problem is there is a lack of unity amongst Indians and lots of inter-community hatred, otherwise if we worked hard as a team like the Jewish folks we'd all be ballin'.
