Note: A test just to see how my body would react! In no means would I be able to sustain such a program for a long peroid of time!
Ok guys so I tried to do a test to see what would happen if I would do go on a extreme calorie deficit for one week.
So I'm 5'8 165lbs down from 240lbs and I want to fo to 145lbs and start a lean bulk from there.
My macros are 1800 calories 70 grams of fat/ 170grams of protein/ the rest is carbs.
I have a refeed day once a week where I lower my fat and double the amount of carbs I eat and sometimes my refeed day turn into a full out cheat day to keep me mentally stable and water weight usually goes away a few days later.
Recently the leaner I got the harder it was to lose fat so I thought to myself let's do a little test! Here is what I did:
1. Two times 1 hours of cardio where I would lose 2400 calories aprox in total.
2. Do a 45 minutes of moderate full body workout after the first hour of cardio.
3. Go home and eat under 1000 calories.
4. I would be in a deficit of 3500 calories (including my bmr) which would mean a loss of about 1lbs a day.
So 1 hour of cardio lose 1200 calories, then 45 minutes moderate full body workout, and finish it with another 1 hour cardio to lose another 1200 calories.
I weighed myself each morning after going to the bathroom.
Day 1:
Weight: 75.1kg/ 165.5lbs
Cardio:
Food:
Day 2
Weight: 73.8kg/ 162.7lbs

Day 7
Weight: 76.4kg/ 168.4lbs
Cardio:
Food:
So all in all in my extreme deficit I ended up gaining 1.4kg/ 3lbs.
So what exactly did happen? Why did I gain weight instead of lose it? Did I gain water weight? because I did up my water from 1 gallon to 2 gallons of water after 2 days because of the excessive cardio and sweating and it kept me full during my hunger. Did I gain muscle? I would think muscle loss would have been something to happen instead of gain.
Metabolism slowed down? Even then I would not excpect it to happen so quick.
Anyway I'm going back to my normal routine starting tommorow. You don’t always get what you wish for, you always get what you work for.

What sort of crazy ass cardio burns 2400 calories in two 1 hour sessions? Not to burst your bubble but unless I misunderstood 1800 isn't too low.
Edit: Nevermind ... I get it now, when you posted your macros I thought those would be the macros you take in.
So. You don't get enough protein, fat, or calories + You dont keep track of your strength = You don't quite understand fundamental nutritional concepts.
Take pictures of yourself, not the scale, let's see what happens.Bench: 230. Squat:375. Deadlift:375. OHP:175 (Not Max). Pullup: +65. @165. 1/28/15

This whole thing is wack .. I missed your bottom paragraph. Did you weigh yourself in identical conditions? Track hydration, bathroom visits, clothing, and other factors? Can you lift as much as you could in the beginning?

Well when I first started my cut I started out with 2500 calories and decreased it as I lost my weight. I did hit plateaus but just reducing calories a bit would resolve the stalled weight issue. I normally don't do more than 1 hour of cardio 3 days a week and focus more on lifting after I hit the 190lbs mark. But for this test I just wanted to see what would happen if I would do what is considered taboo 7 days of extreme low calories and high cardio.
My energie level was really low I felt sleepy slugish my morning boners vanished lol. My lifts did decrease I could not do as many reps as before.
I weighed myself always in the morning after taking a dump and piss. You don’t always get what you wish for, you always get what you work for.

Within the same 1 week, I highly doubt you gained that much weight. Had to have been the water mostly. Water retention usually lasts 5-6 days for me.
Edit: saw pics of your food, its definitely water retention + unreleased poop. You probably lost considerable fat compared to a less calorie restricted diet. Give it a few days, weigh again. I bet you lost a lot.

If you really want to know it, avoid carbs and salty food for a whole day and drink a ton of water... And weight yourself the next morning after ''taking a dump and a piss''.
That being said what you did was very hard (you need good conditioning to do that amount of running in 1 hour, twice a day) but very stupid as well...

Wow OP you really went hardcore on this one props!
How could this be water retention? The guy did 2 hours of hardcore cardio ultimate sweating?
If anything he would probably gain more water going back to his normal eating routine.
Whole thing is just crazy makes wonder about the weigh yourself once a week thing...
Could it be overtraining? Or not drinking enough water?

1800 calorie's is not considered super low? try 1,000 and see what happens.
P.S Your last few meals look higher in sodium, my guess, and is the most obvious answer is water retention."The reason why we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind the scenes with everyone else's highlight reel."
