    I just drink allot of water. At first I would consider how much precisely I am taking in. Once I got into the habit of drinking water I easily take down a gallon a day. As to how to count water with pre workouts or not I think water is water. what if your pre is in cap form, do you not count the water you take your multi vit with? I don't think you need to over think this, just drink water as much as possible especially if thirsty.

    I count any gatorade or fruit juice I drink during the day into my water intake as well, cuz both help with hyrdation.

    You also have to make sure you accurately measure the volume of your urine (I use a scientific beaker) and at that volume to your daily water intake too

    Well black coffee, and unsweetened tea have caffeine in them which even though it is mild it can still have a similar effect to that of a diuretic so with caffeinated beverages I tend to feel the need for a little more.
