Played rugby all my life, decided to give american football a go for **** and giggles over a 2 year period playing club level. All I can say is it is highly technical, so much so that the average person watching the game has no idea of the complexity of a single play. Being a successful running back is more about being able to step guys at full speed.. he will have to be able to read plays, player tendencies (rushing, blocking offensive + defense players), running height (league players run very high), adapting to QB blocking defense, trick plays etc.. Since high school these guys were hitting the gym as hard as NRL players hit it now.. guys in HS even get on bikes just to stand out for college selection. Not to mention the pool of players being 10x as large in the US that he has a lot to contend with.

Nevertheless he has balls and if he does make it as a starting RB (and not just special teams) he could go on to be one of the greatest Aus sporting heroes.

Aussies were lucky to get away with that win today, they didn't look that good, really missing all those players, in particular the big props making meters up the middle, is Scott and Tamou injured or did they pull out of the tournament as well?
