If you don't have the money to invest in a good Oly Shoe, then Chucks may just be your best most versatile option. I actually use to rock a pair that I found on sale for $30. They are a great, low profile, durable, generally hard soled shoe which will give minimal power loss compared to cushioned regular shoes. Not to mention they are a rubber sole and grip pretty well too. Just make sure you get the high-tops so you can get a little bit of ankle support. (if needed)

Plenty of people prefer the flat sole. You may find you actually prefer them over Oly shoes. Put some 5lb plates underneath your heels to find out if it's a feel you like. If you do like it, then oly shoes will feel even better than that. I have some Wei Ruis that were around 90 and they have models less than that. I like them a lot.

Chuck High tops because they are so damn versatile. They are what I started out with, now I have 3 different shoes I have to lug around. It's overkill and annoying.
I don't own Oly shoes, but the 3 different pairs I have tried I didn't like. Another option is wrestling shoes for the squat and deadlift. I know Big 5 has a $60 pair of wrestling shoes, maybe find a coupon or sale.THE IRON NEVER LIES!!!
I lift weights to better myself. Looking this good is just a bonus. :)

I recently started using my Adidas Adipowers. Prior to that all I did was squat in Chucks for years. The major difference i've noticed with the switch is the elimination of intra shoe foot movement.
With my Chucks my feet would move slightly within the shoe vs the Adipowers this is completely eliminated. I also feel the Adipowers provide a strong solid base to push from when coming up from your squat, you pretty much feel nailed to the ground and are pushing on a solid base.
So long story short with Chucks I don't like them for squats because of that intra shoe movement along with a less stable base.
For bench and deadlifts I always use my Chucks. My training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441

+1 on the Asics. They are the goods for both squat and dead.

If your going chucks for squatting make sure you get the low tops!!! I cant believe how many guys buy the high tops, you are destroying your ankle mobility with those even if they are put on loose. At least the low tops you can achieve adequate dorsi flexion in the ankle.
For deads they are fine, if you can go barefoot this is the best since the bar travels the least to get to your hip.
Best option for squatting is weightlifting shoes. These optimize your knee angle when descending in the squat, keep yourself a more upright torso without good morning the lift as much, and achieve deeper depth easier.

I've been squatting in my trainer 2.0s for the last few months. Im normally a wide stance squatter but had to move my feet in to make it work with them.
Threw on my old pair of chucks and went wide yesterday and it just feels more natural.Animal Rep
