    Deadlifting Question

    Hey guys

My current deadlift is pretty bad, 250lbs. But I struggle to hold onto the bar and do them without an alternate grip. I'm kinda worried about continuing the use of alternate grip due to muscle imbalance and the recent posts about ruptured biceps. Scaring the chit outta me! So I recently switched to the hook grip. Still getting used to the pain. I used it a week ago for the 250lb dl and I still couldn't grip the bar and hold on.

I recently bought some chalk ball things, should I use them? Or should I buy some straps and use them with double overhand grip? Or don't use either and just try to improve my grip?

Muscle imbalance? You know you should be alternating your grip when you used a mixed grip, right?

And yes, use chalk. It helps, and it really pisses off bros, which is like winning twice.

I think you should focus on grip training for a while before you begin to use chalk and/or straps.

you won't tear a bicep or create muscle imbalances. especially not deadlifting 250 lbs.

Eh, hook grip is nice if you have huge hands, but mixed grip is generally the way to go.
