Lizzie Velasquez is a clever woman, she has many quirky comments that make you laugh. I watched this video the other day and loved it. It is sad to see her suffer through what has had to go through but very inspiring to see her push through all of the bull crap and continue to be an amazing individual. I'm so glad her parents have shown her the love and support she deserves. Because of the support from them, she was able to embrace the cards she was dealt and become a very successful woman. Beautiful video – thanks for sharing.

Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” ― Randy Pausch

She has the most incredible and positive personality and outlook in life. Far more attractive than so many of the superficial females you can see on a daily basis that are more concerned with their appearance and promoting that appearance than actually developing a personality like hers.
But I've seen the type of people that will bully a person like her. Completely vile people that obviously have something wrong (mentality) that they need to do that to someone else.Workout Log / Chat thread...Embrace the Dragon: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169711903

Sadly, it's actually a repeatable finding in both psychology and economics that exactly what you're describing has a tangible benefit. Attractive people, however superficial and vapid they may be, tend to get hired quicker, get paid more, and actually even generate greater revenue for the companies that hire them.

You are absolutely right and extremely sad. Way too often sub-par people are hired for jobs they can't handle purely based on their appearance. And unfortunately that won't change as long as people keep promoting that type of mentality by participating in the same activities. People have choices with how they present themselves to others. If you are an intelligent, attractive female that prefers to go with the status quo of using your appearance to get ahead rather than your intelligence, you are contributing to the mentality. And it is sad cause when they think of you, their first thoughts won't be "wow, she is really intelligent and a good employee"...their thoughts will be "wow, she is attractive" or "great, we got another woman that isn't capable of doing her job and only got it cause of her appearance".
To be honest, I prefer to have them value my intelligence over my appearance and I make choices to ensure that.Last edited by Artemis00; 01-18-2014 at 09:13 AM.

Very interesting talks.
Cameron Marshall was forthright in saying there's so much more a woman can be than a model, and there's few individuals in the industry who'll tell them to not rest on pretty. However, she touched on a lot of points that could have been elaborated upon, particularly how ideals of beauty are manipulated and constructed.
I saw Lizzie Velasquez's other TedTalk "I Choose To Be Happy" last year. She has a strong sense of self, and reveals the ability to utilize adversity as fuel. Not many people would be able to take that constant bombardment of negative videos, comments, and publicity in media and social updates - and still keep their heads up. Now and again there's a news story of someone crumbling under half as much pressure, and there Lizzie Velasquez is talking about it on a stage.
Pulchronomics.
Labor economist Daniel Hamermesh first wrote about it in his book "Beauty Pays: Why Attractive People Are More Successful".Hums the theme to Superman during planks and LYTPs. Now that you've read this, you will too.
All right boys, now watch how this is done. The key is to put it all in your groin and your back.
Take your legs totally out of the equation. Lift with your lower back in a jerking, twisting motion.
