When a cop is pointing a gun towards you, it's time to listen to him and obey his orders 100%. Not much else to say here.
“We have these — these talking heads who have gotten the vaccine and are telling other people not to get the vaccine,” Gov. Spencer Cox (R) said.
“That kind of stuff is just, it’s ridiculous. It’s dangerous, it’s damaging, and it’s killing people. I mean, it’s literally killing their supporters. And that makes no sense to me.”

I allways lol at these kind of threads. American cops and cop lovers are so delusional. You all believe that your way is the right way. Its impossible to back up, its impossible to not use lethal force, its impossible to fire warnings shots, its impossible to aim for legs, its impossible to not empty your entire clip into someone. All these things are "retarded" and "only work in movies!".
You all just continue circle jerk these "truths" until you people really start to believe them. You are truly believing that there is nothing outside of these "truths". And when people speak against it you just claim that they "don't know since they haven't shot a gun before" or "aren't in the force" or call them "retarded".
But meanwhile, outside of your US fairy tale circle jerk world there is the real world, with other countries, that have different approaches to police work, which frankly told simply work better.
I of-course can only speak for the Dutch police, but there are clear differences in mentality between Dutch police officers and US police officers regarding these "truths". Dutch police officers fire warning shots, Dutch police officers aim for legs almost all the time, Dutch police officers limit their fire to 1 or perhaps 2 shots if they actually have to fire. Dutch police officers attempt to deescalate situations vs US police officers escalating them.
Of-course, words don't say anything so im going to post some examples (get your google translate ready).

While being moved to a hospital, a prisoner makes a run for it. The cop in charge first fires a warning shot (At this point I guess all the American cops reading this scream in choir "WHAT? THATS IMPOSSIBLE!"). As the prisoner continues to sprint away, the cop then takes a single clean shot (!) and hits the man in his legs (!!!!!). (I can only imagine the duress American cops currently reading this are going through, as their world is falling apart).

Police officers received a call about a man behaving suspicious, also receiving reports the man is armed. As they approach him, he runs away. As the police officers give chase he turns around and pulls something out of his pocket. Naturally he gets shot, this would have happened in the US aswell. However, that is were the similarities end as rather than blasting him away like a duck in a shooting range only a single shot gets fired (Dear Americans, if while reading this you started having hearth pains and feeling nauseous please do call an ambulance).

This one is actually quit similar to the one in the OP. A clearly confused man is threatening police officers with an axe. As he advances on them, they fire an warning shot. When this does not work and the man starts to charge, they fire a single (!) shot in his leg (!!!!!!) taking him down. (At this point, I can hardly imagine there are any US cops left that haven't fainted yet reading this).

This video does not contain footage of the actual altercation, but its about the news report written below it. Cops get a called to an house due to an ongoing altercation (family conflict). As they approach the door, a man armed with two knifes charges out (Sounds familiar to the one in the OP eh?) and lunges towards the cop. Again, he gets taken down by a single shot in the leg.

This one is the most interesting of them all, the police get threatened by a man with a revolver (ib4 butgunsareillegal!!!!! retarded arguments, it was a legal one). Rather than blasting him away, they fire warning shots to try and get him to put down his gun. As the man runs away, and refuses to surrender he once again gets shot in the leg. The interesting thing about this one, is that he had a loaded firearm and aimed it at the officers. But they still didn't shoot to kill him.
All by all, I hope you are still conscious while reading this. Naturally, ill get neg trained to oblivion for posting opposing views, but if writing this can change the mind of even one of u US cop brahs, then it was worth it as I may have saved someones life by doing so.

anyone arguing that it wasn't a 'by the book' shooting is a moron. how that's even an issue being brought up is ridiculous, if you were in that officers shoes you'd be an idiot not to do the same thing. the issue is that officer obviously wasn't trained to handle that situation in a proper manner, when his girlfriend/whatever said he had intentions of injuring himself with a knife (no one else in house, no other methods of egress except front door), why would you even walk in there? the second you know he is holding a weapon 'by the book' you are already justified to kill him. what the precinct did was basically dispatch an executioner to that house. for the police records that's just standard procedure, that entire system needs an overhaul, more training in different scenarios and planning in situations like that are necessary..

I never said the officer would be able to do that in this situation. The officer made the right move. I was just saying that a shotgun blast of birdshot to the leg would have put the guy down.
Riot officers used to use birdshot all the time to stop rioters from coming at them. Even from 20 yards away, it would have a guy put on the ground. Use it from 5 feet away, and there would be no problem, also pretty hard to miss/no chance of doing much damage to anyone else.

Okay, please explain how a person wouldn't be down after there knee cap is shattered from a shotgun blast 5 feet away? Pellets literally in your joint making use pretty much impossible. I get that people will still lunge forward after being shot, but you can't really run forward when your knee doesn't work.
