I weighed 240 and I wrestled 285. My truck was that I'm the king of sit outs. I can throw my hips out like its nothing and then I'd get escape points then id get tight back on then. Preferably front headlock. It's really about quickness and leverage man

My advice is stick to your own weight class.

You're losing most of your varsity matches because you are facing bigger and stronger opponents who aren't stupid enough to make mistakes big enough to allow you to beat them. Try fighting a few weight classes above your own in college and you'll get trashed.

OP might have someone already at 182/185.

ankle pick a 220 and you've broken his stand up

lat drop a 220 and you just made his own team laugh at him

leg cradle a 220 and he quits wrestling

Keep a good stance for 6 full minutes during the match. Your opponent WILL get tired, and he WILL stand up, once he stands up just shoot a blast double or something. My personal favorite is our 182 pounder is close to 6'5, and he will snap everyone down and ankle pick them. Use your natural abilities, but once you go on bottom it's all of what you've learned. Dedicate yourself. When you get tired is when it counts. You have to train harder, faster, and better than all of your opponents, and make sure they know it. My key is I always say "This kids a scrub." in my head here a match, gets my mind and body ready.
