How much protein can our bodies absorb each hour?

Can't our body absorb only a limited amount of nutrients each hour? Doesn't it mean that meal frequency is in fact important?

As a practical matter, however much protein you consume your body will absorb.

For example, eat a big steak and digestion will take 48 to 72 hours to be totally completed.

It's functionally irrelevant. As mentioned above all the protein you consume will be absorbed. The rate of absorption matters very little.

it doesn't matter, it will all be absorbed eventually, the speed of absorption will alter with what food the protein came from

What about whey protein? I heard it is digested very quickly, does it still mean that all protein will be absorbed?

The "fast absorbing" whey protein is merely a selling point that supplement companies use in order to make their processed powder seem better then other sources of protein.

The protein in chicken, beef, fish, pasta, or anything else will all be absorbed in the same way as whey.

Whey protein powders are just processed fast foods that, if consumed without any other foods, are absorbed rapidly -- much like eating table sugar.

Anyway, the protein you eat is the protein that you consume and the protein you consume is the protein that is absorbed.

Now try to focus on something that matters.
