    Beefcake's 100k Challenge // I am JUGGERNAUT

    Beefcake Is JUGGERNAUT

Howdy folks, my names BEEFCAKE (known to my friends as Beefy or Beefer), and I'm here to give you all a run for your money

This is my first time trying the Bodybuilding.com 100k Transformation challenge - last I knew, it was only available to the USA. THANKS BB.COM/Dymatize FOR INCLUDING CANADA THIS TIME!!

I tried the Juggernaut challenge once before (2011 or 2012), but I didn't continue with it; I don't remember the exact reason why, but I do know that I did not like the taste of Juggernaut in the past. I have a different flavor on the way this time, and maybe whatever it was I disliked has been changed. We shall see!

For the next 12 weeks, I will be following Jim Stoppani's 12-week Shortcut-to-size program as found on Bodybuilding.com, but modified so I can do it in the comfort of my home gym. I don't have any cable systems and I lack a few machines, so everything I do is with benches, bars, dumbbells, and my little power rack.

My MAIN GOAL for this competition is to kick start myself into shape for the upcoming Football Season. I play in an all-women's tackle football league, and this year the season is starting up earlier than usual. We're running from April through June (usually May through July), and practices may be starting as early as February!

This year will hopefully be my 100% comeback since tearing my ACL a second time. I've been basically inactive for the past 2 years, so I have a lot of catching up to do!! I have a few limitations exercise-wise due to the knee, but I've been dealing with it for a while and have various workarounds, it doesn't really affect my lifting in the gym anymore. I also have a brace that I will likely be wearing for any leg or running workouts. It pretty much holds my leg together properly.

Nutrition wise... I'm pretty bad. I've been working on a diet that I can stand for the past year to varying degrees of success. I am gluten and lactose intolerant, and I also have a strong dislike of vegetables(mostly green), so consider all of those removed from my diet. I'm also sick of a lot of meat at this point, so I'm half-way to being a vegetarian. I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR TIPS ON DIET AND RECIPES!! I will be whining about my diet throughout the entire contest

I will do my best to post my workouts and diet consistently, and any helpful tips or criticisms are always welcome.

Best of luck to my fellow competitors, let's have fun and transform for the better!

I just got the Juggernaut HP crimson punch and it’s awesome. I’ve also been drinking the Inifinite Labs chocolate whey and whey isolate for a while and it tastes great too.
Nutrition was the hardest thing for me too and I had to start small. I did the South Beach diet on and off for a while and then went to the paleo for a bit. Now I’m hooked on supplements and proteins and it’s been getting easier. Start small if you have to. Remember, cheat meals are important once a week or so, but try to make healthier choices like whole grain pastas or tortillas, sugar free sauces, and low calorie options.
Here are a couple paleo diet recipe sites that helped me along the way. You’ll learn to get creative while eating the same thing. Lots of protein powder recipes out there too.

    Good luck to you!

Perform very brief but high intensity weight lifting workouts with

Achieving an increase means your recovering correctly and the fat burning did not interfere with the muscle building efforts. BURN FAT NOT MUSCLE

Thanks everyone for checking in and following along! I'll try to get to each of your logs at some point to see what you're up to!

    So.. my before Photos....

Well... I failed to get my pictures taken last night, again... my friend forgets their camera, I forget the paper... Well, today I try again.

I hope to have my Juggernaut by the end of the week, I ordered the Red Raspberry this time. I had the Crimson Punch in the past and I really did not like it. I also ordered Infinite Labs' Agmatine and Carnitine MTX, gonna give them a shot. I'm actually just finishing a bottle of IF Carnitine right now!

Wednesday's plan is "Active Rest"... I may go hit up the interactive bikes at the gym. I considered going swimming before work, but I'm just getting used to waking up around 6am again, and I'd have to be up by 5 to get to the pool.
    Soon...

Apparently, something from my order is on BACKORDER, so I don't think my Juggernaut will be arriving soon. I'm going to see if I can get the item dropped from the order so the rest will be shipped.

Doing great in here Beefcake! On some of the big movements like deadlifts & squats etc. I have scaled down the weight to get the best form possible while I build back up. I found myself hammering out deadlifts, adding weight each week, but my back was rounding too much, so I just feel like we are in the same boat but will both get there soon!

It's really tough (AND FRUSTRATING!!) to get back into it... I'm pretty anal when it comes to form, and I think I'm getting it right from the start again this time... the bodybuilding.com andriod app was actually quite helpful, I looked up the pullover form from that when I was questioning myself on the lift. I'm really diggin the new bodyspace layout and all the new features... my only major gripe is that it doesn't work on the old computer browsers at my workplace so I can't do a lot of updating/tracking/goalsetting at work. I can only do so much from my phone haha.

I'm getting more sore as the day goes on... upper back UGGGHHH!!!!!! Traps and a bit of tris too... I really hope it doesn't get much worse than this, I won't wanna go do anything at the real gym!! Hoping to go play on the bike or track this evening.

    Welcome back, Beefy!

I remember that you played football and had your injury. I assume you are back at it.

I usually take the Orange flavor of JHP and love it's simple taste (not over sweet). I just picked up Wild Cherry, which I've heard is awesome.

Are there any sample packs of the different flavors of juggernaut available? I'd be interested in trying them all to see what's up!

Planning meals is the hardest. I usually cook meals for a couple days at a time, but it seems like I run to the grocery store a lot. I have a friend who cooks on Sundays and fills 50 containers for the week.

It's something I've always kinda had trouble with. I really don't have a lot of free time during the week, and my weekends are generally spent playing catch-up with the chores I didn't get taken care of throughout the week. I'm going to try and prep a bunch of meals this weekend and freeze them for next week.

Strange question for everyone... Any storage container suggestions? I don't really wanna use glass because it's heavy and would be more troublesome to take to work, but I also don't really like cheap plastic... and I don't have a lot of money to spend.

Help a beefer out...?? IDEAS GO!
(Freezer bags?? Real dishes at work?? ANYTHING!)

I like Rubbermaid the best for quality and price. You can get a 30 piece set at Walmart or Costco for $20-$30 I think
