    Want brutally honest and logical comments and answers. Dirty bulk 153lbs-186lbs

    Whats up guys. So i've been bulking for about 6-7 months now and have gained 30+lbs. Keep in mind I am aware that I have gained a lot of fat, but I really just want to make sure I didn't completely fail at bulking? Also I just want to know what I could expect after a nice slow cut? My lifts have gotten a lot better on this bulk and all, my arms went from 14.5" to 16", but I am worried that I didn't gain muscle..It is a really crappy feeling.

    Bench: 155x8 to 200x6
    Squat: 185lbs to 205x6
    Incline db bench: 45lbsx6-8 to 80lbsx6

    First two pics are from around 155lbs and the ones after are of me around 180+lbs.

    that is a lot of fat gain.... ALOT.

    I am not a fan of a dirty bulk for people who aren't at least aware of their macros on a general scale.

    It seems like you just ate a lot of sweets/crap and not enough protein to put on muscle as well as the fat that comes with bulking.

    you only added 20lbs to your squat but 45 to your bench? if you arent working your lower body as much as your upper you probably shouldnt be trying to gain 1lb a week. Honestly I dont think your pics are terrible, you can tell you put on some muscle, but probably half was fat.

    I added more than 20lbs to squat. It was 185lbs for 1 rep and now 205lbs for 6 reps.

    Man did you do any cardio? I went from 155-178 in my first two months of lifting and actually got more lean!

    I ate dirty not super dirty but I wasnt watching my diet, but I am an ectomorph who is very active.

    For the most part, what have you been eating during this dirty bulk? And while bulking, have you been relatively keeping track of where you are nutritionally during the day? I personally dont keep FULL track of my macros while bulking but definitely my fat intake, and calories... You have gained a significant amount of body fat, which is common with bulking (especially dirty) but in the same token, I actually prefer dirty over clean (when done properly) while bulking to gain muscle.. For your next bulk, use this as a template.... Figure out your ideal body weight (what you ultimately want to bulk up to) and plan your meals accordingly... its a lot easier to bulk at a diet of 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% fat.... Make sure you are also training intense with as little rest periods as possible for that muscular endurance (which is also cardio), and designate specific training days to strictly full cardio sessions while you are bulking... That way you will minimize the amount of fat and ensure that you are mostly packing on muscle...

    Yeah I was keeping track. I wasn't making sure my macros were perfect, but set minimums for protein. It's difficult for me to find the ideal caloric intake for clean bulking. I'm either not gaining any weight or gaining weight to fast.

    I was actually mirin your first pic dude, you look like you have aesthetic genetics. Hopefully once you cut down to perhaps 160-165lbs you will look the same with a little more muscle mass. If you lifts increased then im guessing you would have put on at least some muscle under the fat. Keep us posted!

    I am really hoping man. Hopefully I added at least a few pounds of lean muscle. I think if I can do my cut right and slow that I can look better than I did before when I was lean.

    Ectomorph genes help most def but cardio would have made you look leaner and you could have put on some more mass instead of cutting at 183.

    I read some of the comments first and thought I would find something a lot worse. You just need to change what you're doing and move on. You gained some muscle, but just too much fat, so you can't see it very well. Clean up your diet and keep lifting. "Dirty" bulking is never a good idea.

    @ op

    If lifts are going up that's a good sign but tbh it def looks like you gained way more fat than muscle. Then again u could be hiding the muscle very good underneath such as my before and current pics
