If your service didn't even meet the basic standards, I give you a little info on how you could do your job better in the future.

The balls on some people who've never worked a hard day in their life. Exactly, the entitlement of servers has gotten to the point where you can tip a certain amount and it won't be enough. They now expect, or rather demand 20%, like what is that bullsh*t?

Let's look at it objectively though, servers provide a very low value skill-set. Meaning you could teach ANYONE to become a server in a matter of hours. They might not be the best right off the bat and have full knowledge of the menu, sauces, drinks etc but they could still fully carry out the tasks needed to complete the job. So what exactly are we tipping for, it it a 'I feel bad you can't make enough money in an actual career' tax? Let's tip everyone then, garbage men, technicians, cashiers, fast-food workers... why not? It's the same damn principle.

I'll tip but if I'm just going out for wings and a beer, don't expect more than a couple bucks because you don't deserve more..

The only thing I would change would be the bolded.
The other parties position is not that tipping should never be a practice, only that tips should not given on the sole acknowledgement that the person is doing their job (at the most basic/fundamental level).

I am also curious to know if the other party believes in other social norms accepted today based on patriarchy/history or just deemed as a societal norm.

Correct, but I don't eat out that often so it doesn't bother me much. I tip my pizza delivery guys(owners), but they often bring the food super fast and always deal with whatever issues I have, they're regulars given that I order pizza about once a month.

Went out to eat one time and the waiter asked for a tip BEFORE he took my order. He said the rest of the meal was going to be dependent on how much I tipped him. I initally gave him $3 and he was real snooty, standoffish, copped a fukcing attitude, and brought our appetizers 30 minutes later. Having had enough I decide to tip him $20 and notice a dramatic difference in service. This motherfukcer was courteous, brought out our main course 5 minutes later, opened up my napkin and placed it on me, kept checking in on us periodically, and refilling our drinks (essentially living up to his job description). For the last portion of the meal (desert) I tipped him $10 and he started copping an attitude again, deserts came out 15 minutes later, he slid the food onto the table and briskly walked off without saying a word. At the end I told him to have a nice night, he saw that I left no additional tip, and replied "Yeah, whatever."

Needless to say this was one of the most ridiculous experiences of my life. These *******s are getting out of hand. Before you know it they're gonna show up at your door and ask for a tip for a meal that you ate a week ago. I don't see the difference between tipping and a hobo walking around with his palm upturned looking for free money.

Is this real life?
