Excuse me? Youre telling me what to do with MY money? Personally, I can be a great tipper. IF my waiter or waitress has given me a friendly service that when I leave, I leave satisfied. Dont get me wrong, even if they do a bad job (unfriendly, doesnt seem like they want to be there, no smiles, unfilled water etc) I will still tip, just not the 20% that I usually do.

The article just pisses me off because they are pretty much telling me what to do with MY money that I WORKED HARD FOR. Just like you should work hard to get my generous tip. If my employer didnt like the effort I put in to my work they would either not pay me or fire me. Why should a waiter's job be any different? If youre a waitress or waiter and complain about how we spend OUR money then go get a different job. Dont tell me what I can and cannot do with it. If I want to evaluate your service and base it off of how much youre going get then so be it because THAT IS LIFE.

I usually calculate 20% and tip that but I hate how they feel entitled to it.
What makes them think their set of "skills" is worth any more than minimum wage? Learn a marketable skill then demand higher wages

I don't mind tipping, but I DO mind wait staff bitching about tips. I worked in a restaurant in high school and I made bank. Seriously, you make so much more money than what your job is worth.

The one that pisses me off is when they complain about how they make less than minimum wage. Unfortunately the people who make this argument are too retarded to realize that they've never actually made so little tips that this has ever come to fruition (or they know they're full of shit), since the owners are responsible to supplement their wages to bring them to minimum wage if the tips don't.

I was rushed through my meal at a local chinese restaurant yesterday. The waitress expected me to pay for my meal halfway through and expected a tip but I left her 0$. Once she saw that she stormed off cursing in some asian language at which point I called the manager over and her ass was promptly fired.
