Obviously, all the heaviest ones are hooked grip. Who would pull double overhand in a competition?
637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.
600/370/600 - best competition lifts.
575/330/560 - best competition lifts at 181 raw.

I tore both biceps doing mixed grip. Whatever hand is supinated tears. One was minor the other completely tore off and required surgery to reattach.
Because of that I trained to pull with a hook. Just last night I did 620lbs with hook and my grip never felt like it was going to fail. Once you get used to the pain (I also tape my thumbs) it is easy peasy.

My thumb just goes numb... I dont really feel any actual pain. But Im nowhere near as a strong as you guys, but I pulled 455 hooked no problem. But I also never bothered learning mixed grip when I was starting out. So I didnt immediately have to figure out how to hook 500+ lbs when I decided to learn it. It was a natural slow progression with my dead lift progression which probably makes it easier.
Im pretty sure George Leeman is a hook grip puller as well. He was the American record holder at one point. So I dont think the grip itself is going to be a performance detriment.
