These people are in the entertainment business, they make money off of producing stuff that people want to watch, not what they 'should' show people. does he realize how campy films about slavery would have been in the 1950's? They would be horrendously bad and considered wildly insensitive now, even if they had good intentions. He should be happy there are fewer films. We are now at a point where films can represent historical events in a way that isn't hyper-realized and melodramatic.

Also, there are significantly fewer movies set during Revolutionary war times than there are films made about WWII. Does this decry any sort of foul play? There might be a lot of WWII movies, but there are a significant number less about the holocaust itself. What stories do you want to tell about slavery? What kind of stories do you want to tell about the holocaust? Most people want to see stories of hope. That's why Schindler's List, Life is Beautiful, Amistad, and Roots were popular. Most people don't want to see films that remind them of the harsh realities of past human behavior without and sort of level of vindication. Most movies don't have a serial killer that gets away. Most movies don't star a guy who shoots up a bus full of elementary school students.

Overall I thought the movie was a 6/10.

This is just my opinion, excuse my ignorance. But, I watch movies to be entertained. Not to watch a guy get half hanged, standing on his tippy-toes for 6 minutes.

I think slavery movies are just one of the events in our history that's being ignored, not the only one though. I think he just put it in bad words, plus he just made a movie about slaves. He called for a balance which is kinda true the same formula is being used for new movies. Something new wouldn't hurt and events in history that are hardly touch on would be good for history references plus if its entertaining its a win win. That's how I look at it.

Its ignored because the people that did it have to make it, its much easier to make the Germans look bad because they did it. Then there is this idea that ww2 some how affected the world, that is laughable at best. Jews own most of hollywood and to keep the holocaust alive its incorporated in everything, from Indiana Jones, Magneto, Captain America, Batman, you name it the NAZI did it. How many random movies have began with NAZI experiments like the US didnt experiment on people, it wasn't until the late 70's early 80's did black mistreatment actually stop. You can say what you will about about WW2, but all the Jews that survived the holocaust and came to the states in the 40's drank and ****ted in the white designated facilities.
