I did a demo kettle bell group class free of charge for a guy i know that opened a gym to see how they liked it.
A few of their trainers even attended.
We had ten participants.
Im sure they make some cash off off this class.
So they like it and wanted to schedule another class.
They offed me $25 a class the rate they pay all their trainers.
I don't take less than $40 a client for one on one and usually group classes are more with the extra work involved.
I also bring extra kettle bells of my own to class.
I counter with what i consider a reasonable $5 a person instead,normally i wouldn't go less the $10 a person but because i know the guy i gave them a break.
I guess I'm to expensive for them since i haven't heard back from my counter offer days ago.
I am a former RKC kettlebell instructor and feel my value and knowledge is worth more than what was offered.

I'd say take the class and compensation as is and teach it.
But make sure to document the increase of the amount of members attending your class, along with the increase in revenue your class is bringing to the gym and if there are in fact positive net increases, at that point I'd recommend asking to be compensated more.Misc Music Festival Crew

Must be lenient at times.
I know it's hard to accommodate everyone. There was a potential client who offered me $10.00 per session. I was asking $20.00 a workout but I told him I'd think about it. $10.00 is minimum wage. Perhaps for $15.00 a session. It's really what I have to pay the gym that concerns me. It's okay to be lenient, mind you a profit is one of our main concerns.

Please tell me you're not considering PT one on one for even $20 a session. Unless you have no business training anyone.
As for the OP, is there potential to recruit new PT clients from the class? In that case taking a pay cut (and group ex often only pays about $20-40/hour because it is easy) might be worth it. I don't know any instructors that make $50 for a class unless they are highly specialized (kettlebells don't fall under that criteria for most gyms even though they should) and/or experienced or can drive 40+ people into a studio.

Stick to your guns and stand your ground. If you don't have your own plan you'll be a part of someone else's. Friendship aside you have to charge what you are worth to make it worth your while. If you do decide to lower your fee at least negotiate in a hard date for a revisitation based on results, increase etc.
I also wouldn't be too concerned that you haven't heard anything in a few days; they will come to their senses and give you what you asked for.www.jettsettfitness.com

You have to market yourself as an high demand trainer. Ask yourself this "why would they hire you over some zumba instructor who got kb certified online?" "what sets your kb classes apart from the others?" unless you are in a big city, group classes are much cheaper than individual sessions. You also have to see how much the gym is getting out of the deal. Put together a program and talk to the owner (not manager) of the club about it
