I'm 21 and my dad doesn't want me to move out.
Not American obviously.
Actually gets mad when I say I want to move out.

I'm 25, earn $52k/yr, and live at home. Then again, I'm Indian, and we don't follow Western culture nonsense.
Western society places a huge importance on "independence". Making it "on your own". But Eastern culture is about caring for the family and community; "we're all gonna' make it together". Parents don't view their kids as taking up space, and kids don't view parents as a burden.
I'm going to give my folks the best life ever because I appreciate all the hard work they put into raising me. Western society on the other hand... throw your parents into a retirement home and only say "I love you mom/dad" on Father's/Mother's day and Christmas. Lmao. Sad.

Why would I be jelly? I'm just pointing it out. Nothing in my post shows jealousy, I'm just saying American parents don't typically kick their kids out at 18 they just send their asses to college for over forty grand. So it's not like they're out in the world alone their parents are paying for everything. Other cultures don't kick their kids out at 18 because they don't send them to live at a college or pay for their college with a ton of cashmoney.
And good for you, it's easy to make money when you've got money. The hardest part is making money when you've got no money. You've skipped that part, you've got making money in life on easy mode. That's why people respect self-made men because they earn it themselves by coming from nothing. You're not a self-made man although there's nothing wrong with that. I'd do the same thing if I was in your position.WRB :)

Parents pay for almost everything for 18 years, I worked as hard as I could to become self providing so they could enjoy the money they earn and save more for retirement.
I would feel terrible if I was still a burden on my parents, they deserve to enjoy the extra money.**Arkansas Razorbacks**

Brah in Eastern world( Poland and east of that) parents want you to live with them. Will even try to not let you leave.
It's complete different culture. Kids are not seen as a burden, what kind of fuked up thinking is that?
Plus with poverty wages, if you don't own the place you want to move out to, you'd be better off homeless.

So what do I do OP? I'm 22 living at home and currently going to college, I have another year after this then univesity for 3 years I'll be 26 at least before I get a job that even allows me to come close to moving out.
I worked full time from age 17-21 and couldn't afford a car never mind a house. I paid rent to my parents though.
How does one move out while being a full time student? I'm not living with other kunts at uni either no fanx jeff id rather stay at home with my mum and dad.
Edit: guess my post isn't really aimed at OP but more the kunts who say you're a loser if you haven't moved out by 18.
No wonder so many kunts end up in debt and poor if they get threw out and don't get help while they save for a house etc.Last edited by Didlid; 01-03-2014 at 02:58 PM.

I believe a lot of white families do this, they send out their kids at 18 and send them on their own(college or whatever) , not saying it is a bad thing, but it really toughens up a person in the US. While Hispanic/other cultures are still family bound and prefer to keep them under their roof for a while more
