1.14.14 Squats
Close stance: 55x5
Medium stance: 55x5
Comp stance: 55x5
145x3
255x1-add belt
345x-1 add briefs
455x1-add suit, straps down
545x1
635x1
725x1-straps down, braces and belt unlevered.
I didn't do anymore. My knee is tender and 4 of the group was out this morning. So, I cleaned up Christmas from the gym and repaired a light fixture in the leg area...booyah!
My hope is to squat 755-800 at the meet. 755 should give me the squat I need with a 600 bench and pull.Last edited by bigwade800; 01-14-2014 at 06:16 AM.

With the group only half here, I used the camera instead of my phone so, they weren't uploaded just yet. They should be there now.

I felt good about depth but I think the 725 wasn't quite there. I got a little forward and when they called me up, it's just instinct and automatic to do so.

I felt in the pocket with 545 and 635...shows you how the video I made of being a little forward can make a difference....the guys there aren't experienced...Wes, GL and Chris were out. So they were concerned abo7t me holding it for too long. Knee wraps and straps up, I should be good for the total goal squat needed.

My schedule is such that occasionally, especially with my food plan, the stomach doesn't always agree with me. I drank a Monster while training evening clients and while that is never seemingly an issue, it seemed to be, along with my tummy, last night.
Just so you guys don't think I'm just old, this is a typical week for me.
Monday-up at 5 am, take care of my dog, eat, answer messages, train, then to work, then off work to scamper home to train evening clients. After they are done, I head upstairs, more dog, eat, answer more messages and hopefully get a chore or two done.
Tuesday-up at 445 am, repeat above
Wednesday-up at 5 everything through the job and then I usually have this night off and go have dinner with pals. I try to get a chore done when I get home.
Thursday-up at 5 and then same as Monday, however, I start ramping up my chores
Friday-up at 430-445, train, work and then usually this is a big clean my house evening unless something is planned.
Saturday-up at 5, I try to eat, answer messages, tidy up and do cardio before my ladies at 7. They train and then I eat and train. Then I do what I can to finish my house and work on the gym.
Sunday-up at 5-7 usually closer to 5, and do cardio and abs. I usually cook over Saturday and Sunday as well.
Keep in mind, I'm single and I have the gym and a house along with my dog and there are no cleaning fairies to be found at all.Squat: 1,040

I have, in the past, been even busier and hope to have the gym full tilt again this or next year.
It's not easy but, I really enjoy getting to work with everyone I do.
I probably judge anywhere from 10-20 meets annually as well and do the SHR show twice a month and that may even pick up as well. So, it's alot of work but, I enjoy it as well. I'm blessed to do what I do.Squat: 1,040

Off and on, all of my life. I am old enough to remember when powerlifitng and bodybuilding were on TV on a regular basis. As a kid, I saw Larry Pacifico, Vinny and Kaz with several others on TV. SO I was a BB/PL guy as a teen into my early 20's. I went out on the road as a guitar tech and musician for several years so, I didn't get back to competitive PL until the late 90's. When I was a kid, my parents got me a combo bench and I would save money and buy the old DP weight sets that were like 110 lbs. I would cut the bars and make db handles out of the bars. I had a bar I benched with and then a solid steel bar with a pad I squatted with. As I could save the money, the biggest plates were 22 lbs and that's what I pulled with. It was crazy as these were the concrete filled plates. I have no idea what happened to all that stuff. This last run started in 97 and to currently. In that time I've also competed in Oly and storngman as well.

Yeah I've seen a few of them shows lol back in my day. I also remember the old DP weights you had to be really careful not to drop them or the plastic would crack lol. Then you'd have some of the concrete chipping off and falling out lol. I'm really excited and looking forward to working with you.
