Some time ago I went out and purchased new dinnerware, flatware, and some average everyday glasses and cups. Not so much for a fresh start, I was just tired of nothing matching. This evening I walk by the sink and my kids have used every single new piece of glassware in the house, plus a few of my mugs adorn the counter top. I peeked in the sink and there are a few plates, few butterknives, and a wad of paper towel in the corner. Kids have no respect these days.
Rather than just btch about it, I woke them up about 5 minutes ago and they are doing the dishes and cleaning the counter tops as I type this. No dishwasher guys sorry, you have to go old school with the dish soap and sponge, use a microfiber on the counters. Drying towels are under the cabinet.
Itβs getting difficult to pretend to be working on something critical here at the keyboard as I write this post while stifling laughter. The teens are filled with so much angst I can hear the sighs and feel the shoulder slumps from my office. Positive the 9 year old is glaring at everyone right now trying to contemplate why they are doing the dishes and where just where and what is this microfiber Dad is talking about.
Welcome to life kids, Iβm not drinking out of a dirty glass tonight.
Thanks.Ndtha ton eda yi'mg oIng tofi

I taught my kids to run the clothes washer and dryer as soon as they could reach the knobs. Worked out, they are all on their own now and not wearing dirty clothes. Sometimes a parent must play the rescuer, but mostly one needs to take on the role of the coach.

Yep, same here. For the most part they are very efficient around the house for their own laundry, meals, household chores, etc., which I hope translates to being responsible adults and not 'that roomate' in college or in on an apartment lease. Not sure why suddenly over the past few weeks that all went out the window. Maybe it's a back to school slump. No dishes tonight and I saw one of them sweeping the hallway today. I guess they needed the course correction. Loved the coach reference.

Nice man, thats an impressive weight and takes some dedication to get there. Congrats. Also please send me a bottle, thanks.
It happens gradually and suddenly at the same time. One day your music is loud enough, the next day you turn it down because it's rattling the picture on the wall and you don't feel like having to readjust them. Next thing you know the volume knob is at 2 and you find it comfortable. It's a wrap at this point Grandma.Ndtha ton eda yi'mg oIng tofi

We need to patch this guy up and give him a rifle:
Arizona man, 62, falls into mine shaft, breaks bones and kills 3 rattlesnakes before being rescued days later
A 62-year-old man was rescued from the depths of an Arizona mine shaft Wednesday -- two days after he plunged into the pit and began an ordeal during which he nursed his numerous injuries while simultaneously fending off a trio of rattlesnakes, officials said.
John Waddell was lifted out of the 100-foot-deep shaft Wednesday after his friend, Terry Schrader, heard Waddell hollering near Eagle Eye Road and milepost 13, located about 35 miles south of Aguila, Arizona, FOX10 Phoenix reported.
βHe called me Monday and told me he was coming to the mine,β Schrader told FOX10. βWe always had a deal: if he is not back by Tuesday, [come look for him] because he said he would be back Tuesday.β
Schrader added: "I didn't come down Tuesday, I did today [Wednesday]β¦I was afraid of what I was going to find."
Schrader said he drove to the mine shaft area and soon heard the sound of his friend screaming.
βAs I pulled out my truck I could hear him hollering, 'Help, help!'β Schrader said. βI did get enough [cellphone service] that the deputies were on their way.β
When Waddell plummeted into the shaft Monday, he broke both his legs. Worse, as he lay helpless, he suddenly discovered several rattlesnakes were slithering around him. Waddell said he managed to kill three of the serpents during the trying two days underground, all the while hoping someone would eventually hear his cries for help.
It took rescuers nearly six hours to pull Waddell out of the shaft to safety and then to airlift him to a hospital. Although Waddell was severely dehydrated and had broken his legs, his injuries were not life-threatening, FOX10 reported.
