I love front squats although sometimes my left knee doesn't like them as much! Hey 120 is a respectable weight for front squats esp when it is right at what you weigh! It just takes time to get higher in the weight. Try dropping the working weight down to 70-80% of your max and work for reps, the more the better. It will definitely help you increase your max weight.
Thanks, just trying to catch up to you guys!

Day 41
While most everyone was partaking in Monday chest day... I was taking a rest day for me and I enjoyed the rest. My youngest was complaining about her ear last night so I took the day off and took her to the doctor, yup ear infection again...ugh. after we got back home and had lunch I crashed out on the couch for an hour or so while she watched curious George...lol... gotta love my kiddo for letting me sleep and just chill while I am!

Day 42
SO... today is rest day #2... now I wish I had been able to get some rest in today! LOL I had a award ceremony I went to for a co-worker around lunch time.... first they made me wait for the food which was irritating me then I look at the catered menu... ugh definitely not on my meal plan... So I got my salad, the green beans, mashed potatoes, the brazed beef (might as well have just been gravy for the amount of beef in it) and the chicken fried chicken (SMH...) oh yeah and a roll. I go back to the table to eat and everything was ok, not what I would have picked out for lunch mind you but it definitely could have been worse! I go to break off a piece of the roll and I swear it was damn near hard as a rock! the only thing that saved it was the braze beef gravy! I get through the ceremony and the rest of the hectic cold as crap day (yes I had to work outside most of the day in the cold and rain)back to the house and the craziness that it is this week with four kids all in the house after being pent up inside at school all day... LOL so yeah no real rest for me today other than I didn't lift...lol Tomorrow is Chest day... time to up the ante a little more and hit 225 with the 21's... I am seriously looking forward to it!

You are so disciplined! No way I could eat Kale salad---choke, gag! I tried Kale in a smoothie last year and I swear it tasted like dirt...as in...freshly dug up from the yard! I heard it is better cooked in recipes. Later gator~Erin

Th kale in the salad with the spinach and chard is not bad at all, I really dont taste it. I only use balsamic vinegar for dressing now too which definitely hides any bitter taste of the Kale.
Thanks... i am trying to keep everything in line, some of these lunch meals that are out of my control are killing me though!
Dave, it was ok... no where what I wanted and I was starving at that point so I ate anyway... looking it all up I didnt do too bad on calories for that lunch they had, Probably due to smaller portions as well. And yes you did see 21's with 225... I didnt quite make it happen last week... it WILL happen this week last week I could only do them on decline and using rest/pause to get the last couple of each done and only got 205 on flat bench....it will be mine today... Im on that march toward 300 on 21's... my goal this year is to break 400 on bench so all this is building up the strength for it!
I will have it posted around 9PM hopefully... stay tuned!"Strength and Honor" words to live by!

You inspire me to at least try the front squats. I'm just so nervous on doing them per my chicken legs! I mean back squats, hack squats I'm good enough I suppose. But just the fear of failing doing free weight front squats. I got to man up!! Loving the log bro!
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power!

you will never know if you don't try... Just start out with the bar to get used to doing them and finding your balance since it is a bit different than back squats. concentrate on form first and just do for reps to build the strength in your quads. I used to never do them either because I felt they were awkward... I started doing them and stuck with them focusing on my form and slowly building the strength in the movement... Now I do them all the time!

Kenny.. I take the cyclo clenz with it to help keep my liver cleaned out and working well. I have to admit I have abused my liver in the past and now while taking the cyclo dex and cyclo bolan I do it just as a back up precaution I guess to help keep my liver clean. I only take one twice a day as I found two a day works my intestines a bit much. Lately I have even only taken it once a day or not at all if my stomach has been having issues/ been sick. Overall I do feel better when I take it at least once a day. When I am not taking it I feel more bloated and heavier if that makes sense. A couple years back Joe Swat told me to take th ecyclo clenz whiletaking the cyclo bolan to help keep my liver clean and healthy, I have stuck to those words to this day.
The Cyclo Bolan and Cyclo Dex are great! I do have to remember sometimes to take a couple seconds before reacting to the kids or annoying people, I tend to snap on people as it is without them! I basically feel like I did when I was 18-20 again with the amount of hormones, strength, libido, etc. Overall it is treating me well, as you can see I am leaning out and building back size I had lost as well as strength all without cardio, right now...lol And yes I guess it can be a bit manly... I am already an Alpha male type so it is just a bit of a boost there! LOL I can honestly say that any male over 35 or so that has a bit of lag in their life and lack of drive should try the stack and see how well it works for them!"Strength and Honor" words to live by!

Taste- 10/10 as always... I love the orange flavor!
Pump- 10/10...Had a good pump... my calves felt like they were going to split through the skin!..
Strength-9/10 lots of slow reps at a lower weight... hard to do without the JHP!
Energy- 9/10 I wouldn't have been able to finish this volume of work with the slow high rep count if it weren't for the JHP!
Meals
Breakfast- 2 packet oatmeal (raisin, date, walnut), 3 tsp peanut butter
Morning snack- Ground turkey & farfalle pasta 3 cups
Lunch- Large Firehouse turkey bacon ranch
Afternoon snack- 2 scoops IL 100% Whey

LEG DAY- LIGHT!!!!

Single leg calf raise (10 minutes non stop) do slow, squeeze at top on control the negative... slow is the key

135x15
135x15
135x15

This was a really good workout. It is ALOT different than a power workout pushing heavy weight. Doing the reps slowly in a controlled manner worked the muscles like no other, got a good burn most of the time half way through the rep count! This workout is ALL about quality of the reps and the squeeze/ muscle burn than the weight or quantity of the reps pushed!"Strength and Honor" words to live by!

WOW... what a great workout... I worked my back hard and can feel it... I ran out of energy when I got to the heavy deadlifts and couldn't do any more... I probably should have just stayed with 245 and went for reps.. LOLLast edited by thnakd1; 02-15-2014 at 08:41 AM.

Thanks jon.. I appreciate it....
Adam... I am so used to lifting like a power lifter. I am now trying to focus on lifting like a body builder to cleaning up my physique from size to quality form of muscle. It is hard sometimes to get out of those routines though... it is a work in progress, just like myself...LOL"Strength and Honor" words to live by!

Every time I stop in to your log I see hard, consistent work! You have a busy schedule, and stay on point with your training and nutrition. And BTW...the orange Juggernaut HP is my favorite flavor! I have all of the flavors but I love the taste of that one! Your progress pics are outstanding!!! The work you are putting in is paying off big time, keep on doing what you're doing!!!

Thanks Mel.... it can be rather difficult to get everything in! I have a few more pounds for my mass/ bulk then it is time to cut.... I cant wait to see the results... I still have a lot of subcutaneous fat to shred (ok at least in my mind a lot)... ready to look lean and mean!

Love reading your stuff! I think we have a similar training style and seeing someone else doing it who is getting great results gives me a lot of confidence.
Looking good in your progress pics!ONWARD!
