I agree i'm not consistent enough. However i dont want followers but i do want to give out ideas that people can check for themselves. I might post up some info later as to why i chose to pick denison and paladin and uranium in general. But abyways it is doing really well right now. Still loads of upside potential. Again my top picks are denison mines. Fussion uranium. Cameco and paladin energy. Huge short term growth by summer. Spot price should increase to +50$. Currently at 35ish. These prices are almost inconsequential to the actual power plants as all other costs dwarf uranium. Furthermore japan IS. IS. 100% going to restart their reactors in the summer. China is building 20+ new ones of their own along with other countries. Fukishma failed because it is a 1960's model that wasnt kept up to date. Since then they have been refurbishing all of their other reactors.I have been on the uranium band wagon for a while and called cameco back at 20 bucks but it hadnt quite hit bottom then along with paladin back at like 90 cents when i saw it (now at 55). Anyways we are definitely back on the rise now after all that downside. For reference denison is at 1.90 today (im in at 1.75 avg cost) and it was 5 bucks a couple years back and even higher before that. Cameco is at 30 right now up from 20 and still 10 bucks away from a high

Good stuff brah what did u get in at? I wish i had more money. To buy with. I bought some at .45 and .53 avg cost at .50 so im only up a bit with only a few thousand. Im probably going to put a few extra thousand on fission uranium although denision is looking better as it has a better track record. That being said fission is an extremely attractive mine that will be develooed and most likely bought out. Apparently there are a few inquiries from asian and european companies but the ceo doesnt want to let it go because of how exceedingly valuable their property is. Much greater ore grade and at 50m deep vs a lower grade and 500m deep. Very exciting although i lack the knowledge to gauge the intrinsic worth of the mine so i dont know how much upside potential there can be compared to companies like denison and cameco

4250 shares @ .485 up 11.24%. I hear you on having the extra funds. I remember....this was when TD's system was down and I had to call in to place the trade. Hmmm, I'll look into Fission when I get back on the 18th. Until then signing off to visit fam over seas. Good luck brah's!

very interesting, I always knew crossover worked.
Never liked breakout strategies, but that might be because I used it on forex and never really used volume with it, I know badbart uses it with success.
I got some reading to do this weekend om high volume breakouts, need to eyeball some real life examples to ingrain the pattern. Thetrebel also just got himself into my saved post listLast edited by White-Belt; 03-04-2014 at 01:49 PM.

Have you considered dollar cost averaging into index funds and trying your hand at stock picking on a simulation portfolio while you get the swing of things?
That way you won't get screwed on commish, you can start to train your emotions by having some real money in the game (index funds) and you can learn how to pick stocks without having to risk your $$ on your picks yet.
Edit: that is what I would do my first year if I had to go back in time hahGary Johnson

Recap CME Futures Competition.
Two week rounds, start w/ $100,000K and have to get into the top 10% of 400 teams go into the final round.
Note: I was on a team with four other guys who have never traded anything before. I spent like 2 hours the first day of the competition trading safely with proper risk management and made like $1,200. After that I didn't sign on for a six days because of exams and everyone else was trading. We are down from 101,200 to ~84,000 with only a week to go. BRB Initiate 20 contract long position in E-mini S&P 500, let this trade ride for about 2-3 days and profited almost $25,000. This brought us within $10,000 of top 10%. I then reallocated as S&P approached resistance and was long 12 gold contracts and 8 soybean contracts, let this ride and soybeans were up $6,000 and gold was up almost $8000. This put us right on the grasp of top 10% but then gold reversed and went from an $8,000 gain to ~$10,000 loss. With one day left I knew there was a binary oil event coming up and put everything long Crude. Crude made us like $8,000 or so that day and we still lost.

Looking for a platform that I can use that allows the trading of options and shorting stock...
My current bank only allows buying and selling with a 3 day delay between.
So essentially, what platform/bank can you do nearly real-time trades, short and do options with 5-10k or less?
EDIT: anyone use TD ameritrade?Last edited by se4sons; 03-04-2014 at 11:02 PM.

Possible heads up for position / swing traders. Ignore red, got negged by racists months ago.
AT&T (T) setting up for possible swing trade. NYSE. S&P 500, mobile telecommunications
I bought a position yesterday at $32.18. it gapes higher at opening, pulled back then climbed towards the close. It could go either way at open today based on candle. I marked some support and resistance on my chart to give you an idea of where it MIGHT go.

ATD.B at 86.40
ATD has done quite well for me so far this year. Wish I had bought some VRX as well.
Num3n, you might be interested in EFR although it seems you are already heavily weighted in uranium, it is up nearly 100% this year..
Edit: I wanted to add that I would be careful about putting all of your eggs in one basket (or in this case sector), another fukushima like event and you could lose 50% overnight. Of course there is always a risk of black swan events, but that's why diversifying is key in risk management.Last edited by cake123; 03-05-2014 at 05:50 AM.

The KC Fed has a pretty solid paper that takes a look at the impact of changes in US monetary policy on asset prices abroad. May provide some background information that could help choosing international investments or trades in the future after anticipating Fed moves.
This is the kind of info in house economists produce and moves the needle a few percentage points. It's also the kind of stuff very few retail investors are going to read and zero institutional traders will read, so it's an edge however slight.
http://www.kc.frb.org/publicat/econr...1Berge-Cao.pdf
I'll add a follow up comment of caution here however. Remember that while this paper is recent, the farther you go out into the future the more likely and the greater the magnitude of some of the changes in the statistics. Something to keep in mind is whether a particular country has strengthened or weakened their financial connections with the US from current to future.
I'll add a second follow up comment that their macro bulletin articles are very solid and not to disparage any other sources of information... (Rhymes with Herozedge), but it's quality info. Articles on issues such as housing that find a middle road between me and Tekk's discussion on the topic, that short term residential construction will be strong (my point), and that long term demographics and baby boomer decline will cause a contraction in the industry (Tekk's point).
Anyways, take it or leave it, but I recommend it.Last edited by arem20; 03-05-2014 at 07:19 AM.

Not sure if yo have posted here before, welcome m8
A few things
I think you are looking at the daily here. Its important to look at other time frames to get a overall picture of the market.
I like to break it down from top down
-monthly(just to see anything major)
(The ones I use the majority)
-weekly
-daily
Then gauge the following
-price action
-trend
-indicators
T weekly
-Price action
Descending triangle with a bust at support SELL
-Trend
Price under all moving averages and crossing the 200 SELL
-MACD
below the zero line SELL
T Daily
-Price action
double bottom BUY
-Trend
below all major moving averages SELL
-MACD
Bullish divergence BUY
Here you have conflicting signal's. I would be bias to the short side, because price below the 200 ema on both time frames.
The double bottom is a great long signal, in a downtrend here it has less chances of succeeding.
Anyways you get a bounce here and change the whole momentum to the bulls
I would wait for the double bottom to fail and then hit it with a short.
Hopefully someone finds this diarrhea of text use full
