Ironwill,
Castro is a controversial figure and many would agree with your assessment that he is a douchebag. That said, he was a Navy Seal and was able to do things that less than 1% of the population could do (or at least want to do). By the third phase they have to do a 4 mile run in less than 30 minutes, complete a 2 mile ocean swim in less than 75 minutes and the obstacle course in less than 10 minutes. Obviously, there are standards for the pull-ups, sit-ups and push-ups too. Just because he does not have muscles bulging from his head does not mean that he is a couch potato or physically unfit.Last edited by Skyaura; 12-27-2013 at 09:08 AM. Reason: correction

What is funny about that statement? Most people would be unable or at least WANT TO DO what it takes to become a Navy Seal, PJ, SF, etc. AND I am not talking just about the PT part, but the entire program. The drown proofing would scare off many right from the get go. Thus my 99% comment could not do what he did. The wash out rate speaks for itself and they are drawing from a population that is already pretty fit and motivated.

And? Does that necessarily mean he is not physically fit? Maybe he can't deadlift or squat as much as you can. But, at the same time can you swim or run or scamper over obstacles as well or fast as he can. By the way, most of the guys in the SF community do not look like Arnold or Jesse from the Predator. His goals are probably different from your goals. That is why there is not a one size fits all training program. A Power Lifter, Baseball Pitcher, Iron Man, Marathoner, Soccer player, Body Builder, etc all have different goals and will have different training programs. If you are a PLer, you better be Squatting, Bench Pressing and Dead Lifting. If you are into Iron Man, you better be Running, Swimming and Biking.
At this point, I can't believe I am defending Castro, because he is a bit of an ass.

You don't seem to get it; I don't give a **** what he can do or can't do. And I've have never, in any thread other than my own training journal, ever mentioned any of my training poundages. I'm simply expressing my opinion of what the guy looks like. If you don't like it, put me on 'ignore,' and you won't have to suffer through any more of my posts. I can assure you it won't hurt my feelings in the least.
If he was some elite dude back in the day, I'm happy for him. But based on what I saw in those two lame vids, that day has passed him by.
Is he sitting on an ostrich in those vids, or are those his legs?No brain, no gain.

I'm just giving another view. And all I was saying was that just because he does not have a certain physique that you seem to equate with strength/ fitness does not make it so. You don't know what Castro can do (nor do I). So, Dude, relax. And same to you. If you want someone to agree with you 100% of the time, then I am probably not that person. Feel free to put me on the "ignore."
By the way, I don't care what you have in your journal, because ultimately I don't care. I don't follow them as they are not of interest. If you say that you can squat 1000 lbs, I will say great and keep up the good work.

For SOF, it's more about stamina and endurance than strength or size. I thank the man for his service, but I found his demeanor off-putting.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Hi - this is a serious question can someone please tell me...
What kind of house is this, is it considered a mansion where it is (Arizona?), is that a standard backyard size, are they all that large in property size?
Always wanted to move to the desert in an area like that.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

That house is sort of small by Arizona standards. Plus, he is shown outside and unarmed and he says he doesn't shoot in his backyard so that can't be Arizona.
Bet that is California. Hopefully, they get the border wall funded soon between Arizona and California so we can keep them out.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #53 ▪█─────█▪
